D.A. is now investigating Britney's housekeeper battery case

Britney's battery case with her housekeeper is now in the hands of prosecutors at the Ventura County District Attorney's Office following an investigation from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

According to TMZ, it's up to the D.A.'s office to decide whether or not Britney is hit with a criminal charge. 

It's worth mentioning law enforcement at the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept routinely send these types of cases to the D.A. – cases where there's no proof as to what specifically went down.

Earlier in August, Britney and her housekeeper got into an altercation. The housekeeper showed Britney pics of her dogs who were apparently in poor shape. Britney was reportedly angry the housekeeper was taking photos inside her home so she swiped the phone. 

The housekeeper alleges Britney hit her arm to knock the phone out of her hand. Britney says she swiped the phone out of her hand instead. The police don't know whose side of the story is the truth, hence why it's making its way to the D.A.'s. 

Britney's team believes the case will "go nowhere."

The housekeeper, who had worked for Britney for years, no longer does.

Britney was reunited with her dogs last Friday after they were in the dog sitter's care for two weeks.

Ughhhh if she’s charged with something it’ll open the door to a “see, this is why she needs the conservatorship” argument, even though it’s nonsensical bc this is happening now WHILE she’s in a conservatorship.

This is the real issue and it has always bothered me when any celebrity has an encounter with the police or a medical professional. The fact that there are people willing to sell their soul to the likes of TMZ baffles me.

How would this work? If she were to get charged since she is under the conservatorship how will she be tried? In the eyes of the law she has the rights of a minor.

Minors can still be charged with criminal activity

Usually it is under juvenile law but can sometimes be tried as an adult depending on the scenario

I imagine if it got to that point (unlikely) she would still be treated as an adult
