How much are Britney’s masters worth? Who owns them?

Jamie could have also made himself the owner of these masters, which would be a complete clownery.

I think she needs to consider buying them if she hasn’t already. They’re worth way too much and I’d love to see her have more control in that way too.

Basically as far as we can tell Sony Music/RCA owns all of her master recordings. “Masters” typically refers to the copyright of the actual sound recording. Copyright of the “underlying” song or musical composition (lyrics, melody, etc.) is a separate copyright which is owned by songwriters and/or their music publishing companies. Record labels like RCA typically own an artists master recording copyright. This can be found using the US Copyright Office search. An example I pasted below is for Femme Fatale. Notice it says Sony Music as the copyright claimant.

for her music publishing/songwriting, I believe Britney’s is actually managed via Universal’s music publishing division - this can also be found on the copyright website as well as sites like ASCAP, BMI.
