Olivia Rodrigo: Lady Gaga is the best performer of our generation

Well, Gaga must look like Michael Jackson or Madonna on stage to a generation who are amazed and easily entertained by people like Charlie D Amelio, Bella Poarch and Addison Rae.

God, I’m so sad that I know who those people are.

Well said, the bar is so looow, there’s little excitement left in live performance..  :oprah_well_there_you_have_it_proof_see_hand:

To everyone trying to downplay Gaga’s impact and say Britney defined us more, they ruled over different generations. Gen Z grew up during Gaga’s massive peak, so she’s going to define us, just like how Britney defined Millennials. :howiroll_beyonce_telling_talking_chatting_preaching_white_shirt_hands:

They’re both icons. :howiroll_beyonce_telling_talking_chatting_preaching_white_shirt_hands:

Where is the lie, though? I wouldn't consider Gaga a part of the same generation as Britney or Beyoncé anyway. What Gaga lacks in dancing she makes up for in singing. And even if Gaga might not be the best dancer, she always gives it her all. :tiffanynod_miss_ms_ny_new_york_yes_yas_nodding_agree: And even if we were to compare Britney and Gaga, both have their own strengths. Gaga is not as good a dancer, but Britney never sings live. :tiffhair_miss_ms_new_york_ny_fix_hair_nodding_listening:

Anyway, we all know Taylor is the best performer of the millennium. :gunney:

Gaga is the best though from the generation. Her generation is with acts such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Katy Perry etc and not with people like Britney and Beyonce who outdo her in performing (by a slight edge though). That way, she easily is the best out of all of her peers So Olivia's statement actually does make sense :tired_so_there_head_tilt_annoyed_see_rose_mcgowan:

Except I was in high school when Taylor, Rihanna, Gaga and Katy were becoming popular so they’re still blended into acts like Britney, Beyonce and Christina. Gen Z generation are Dua, Camila, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Olive and Billie Igloo Etc and that’s on facts :queenflopga_walk_sass_pink: I love my girl Dua but she’s not a jaw dropping performer. Normani and Tinashe are Gen Z best performer contenders lmao

Hmmmm these girls look way older than 7. and the saddest part is how amazed they are by those basic moves

Are we watching the same video? I don't see amazement on any of their faces. In fact, some of them look like they're lowkey laughing at and mocking Addison. They're just asking for pics to get some Instagram likes, and that's it. :byesmoke_tiffany_miss_ms_ny_new_york_sitting_smoking_cigarette:

This is a better example. I mean, tween girls obsessing over cute guys is nothing new, so I don't understand the outrage. As for the girlies, such as Addison or Charli, I don't know why they're famous, but I don't care either because none of them will have long-lasting careers, so let kids enjoy the content they want to enjoy without being bitter about it because it's mostly harmless and doesn't affect you or me in the slightest. At least Addison isn't promoting unrealistic beauty standards and making young girls develop EDs from what I've seen. She more or less seems like a regular girl.

Moreover, I'm happy that people have the ability to make coin without having to do hard work because working sucks, and in an ideal world people would be able to follow their dreams and passions without having to burden themselves with intensive labor. As much as I hate the flexing, mindless consumerism, and supporting of useless designer brands that their content perpetuates, all I can say is good for them.
