The reviews keep coming in, and already lorde is looking pretty bad, it's at 68 right now on metacritic but expected to keep dropping as more reviews come on.

Remember the saying third times the charm, well for Lorde, this isn't the case..

 

Working with Jack Antonoff, might have hurt her, while the vocals are praised..

 

The reception is mixed about the music, imagery (album cover is included in these reviews as well), the lyrics. 

 

It's pretty bad.  The girl who helped Halsey and Billie eilish and of course Folklore era Taylor swift, is not the critically acclaimed artist she once was.

 

Her new album is at 68/100 on metacritic, and the fans and pretty much everyone in general is expecting the overall score to actually go lower..

 

The one thing people agree with, they're blaming Jack, not lorde.

 

Lorde was even asked if she made a jack Antonoff record in an interview which she rightfully clapped back and said I made a lorde record not a Jack Antonoff record..

 

Fans love this record, and all are saying gaga went thru the same thing with ARTPOP where everything but the Music was discussed.

Uhh, sadly I have to agree. It was highly anticipated, even by me, I loved Mood Ring, also Solar Power wasn't that bad, and Fallen Fruit too. But the rest... So forgettable:(

I liked Stone at the Nail Salon but thought Solar Power seemed unfinished. I’ll definitely check out all the tracks though  I think Lorde needs to release more often

No, fans aren't loving it either. From what I've seen, the vast majority of people are underwhelmed at best.  But the criticism towards Jack is completely unnecessary. It's Lorde's album, and she pulls the strings at the end of the day. She even said that if she didn't like something Jack had cooked up, she'd tell him.

I mean I did not like the album myself so don't know what to say here but I don't understand why Jack is being criticised here producers works accordingly to the artist vision sadly people don't understand.

I mean, are y'all really surprised? The album is just mediocre based on the songs that I've heard so far. It's nowhere near as good as Pure Heroine, and not even on the level of Melodrama.
