Lorde releases new album “Solar Power”

I sat and listened to this one track wise, and it's a vibe album maybe might grow once I start listening to it on a regular basis but I fear her magnus opus came sooner than ever!

I have read reviews saying how this album is not as good that she had hoped  for.

the album is nice as background music but none of the tracks have really caught my attention so far, I'll give it a couple more listens before making my mind up but so far she is yet to top Pure Heroine albeit Melodrama had some standout tracks

Honestly, I’m happy she’s growing and becoming a happier Lorde and she’s telling you all to stop living in the sad past too and move on

67 based on 9 reviews is like really bad for someone like Lorde. I'm worried.  For context, Pure Heroine got a score of 79, and Melodrama got a 91, which is insanely good.

I'm feeling but the album but must admit I was expecting more and there are a couple of songs without catching melody. Knowing Lorde , they might be growers but I am still unsure.

The path  9/10

Solar power 8/10

California 10/10

Stoned 9/10

Fallen fruit 10/10

Secrets 8.5/10

Man with the axe 5/10 (no melody)

Dominoes 9/10

Big star 6/10 (no melody)

Leader 7/10 

Mood ring 10/10

Oceanic feeling 6.5/10 (might grow but it's confusing)

I am disappointed by Lorde.  Her album is boring I feel like I'm listening to the same song to every new song.

There's some really good songs and some rather boring ones. The lyrics are obviously great as always, but some of the songs just aren't melodic enough. 

 

Favorites: The Path, Solar Power, California, Secrets from a Girl, Mood Ring

Will likely grow on me: Stoned at the Nail Salon, Fallen Fruit

Unsure for now: The Man with the Axe, Dominoes, Big Star, Leader of a New Regime, Oceanic Feeling

The new tracks are SO good. That's the Lorde we love . I think for next album she'll go electronic again . Album was very underrated and I don't think she can stand another commercial "flop". I think she'll go halfway what she wants to do and what the GP wants to hear from her. She should do a collab with a dj.
