i’m rewatching the vmas performance and towards the end it seems like g-eazy was leaning in to kiss her then britney moved away 

do y’all think this was a part of the performance or britney rebelling last minute cuz her team probably told her to do it for controversy

I honestly don’t think that’s what going on here at all, but I understand how it reads that way.
But just look at, like, every Make Me performance: she shakes her head like that often throughout the song as a way to project emotion. I truly believe that’s all that she’s doing here too. And since it’s a love song, G-Eazy is playing up the connection as well by leaning into her like that. That’s all.
