It's just Jean's are used for street dancing, not forms of classical dance styles. 

it might be used by professional dancers but it was not a performance trend in late 90s or early 00s to wear on stage. I liked the style of those areas more.

Normani even topped Chloe! These young girls (Doja, Chloe, Normani) came with the iconic VMAs in mind! I know the trend is too “VMAs are dead” but these girls brought it back to life tonight!!! Best VMAs in years! Hands down!
