What if out of nowhere Britney returned with the Oops sound

Recommended Posts

Amidst the title of the thread, I personally would love for her to one day, when she is free and wanting to release music on her own terms, to return to the in the zone/slave 4 u sound (I like blackout as well but tbh ya) :bop_beyonce_dancing_yes_Yas_cheer_party_glasses:

but I was thinking…. In an alternate world, how successful do you think she’d be if she returned with this sound:

@SUCCESSICA IS A QUEEN tagging u for good luck 🧿🧿

There's is a huge divide among Britney fans, some of her fans are actually closer to her age, then most people realize, My cousin turns 41 this October, and is a massive Britney fan since day one, hearing how getting her first cd for Christmas explains it all.

Then there's the younger ones which grew up in her hip hop leaning tracks.

So at this point, Britney is at a point which fan base should she alienate and which one should she please, which happens when a 20+ Veteran in the industry comes at that cross roads in their career, one always gets alienated and left behind because they don't feel the connection to the artistry, while the other fan base stays loyal cos they were chosen, and it's always going to be the youth market over day one fans that are her age.

It would sound very dated and would be a regression imo. Why go backwards? Why do something that’s already been done before? I want something new and innovative, like she always has done with her albums.

Totally and I agree  but even glory’s executive producer created glory having in the zone and blackout in mind

I’m just imagining cuz obviously she’d never return to this sound

I feel like she already had that moment though? The minute she did this it was already starting to look like she had made her decision of where she was headed…

and affirmed it with this

and later tracks like this

It would be kind of interesting to see what she’d hypothetically sound like w the early millennium teen pop sound

in like 2014 when music and the world was in an entirely diff place tho

2016* And from 2014 'till this day we're still pretty much listening to the same $h!t in pop with the empty chorus and catchy long sounds. :sneer_purple_hat_smile_smirk_there_tree_:

But who knows maybe she can make it work again, although I'll forever love Britney's edgitness. She was always an innovator and came out with new sounds.

because it's good? :yaknow_britney_xfactor_X_factor_talk_tell_chat_you_know:

tbh I'm not a huge fan of this "disco" trend, or any song in general that imitates a genre or style from the past. I know one can't never be completely original, but I wish we could have music that in 30 years you could identify "oh, this is the 2020's style", and of course I wish Britney took that direction.

However, if it's about getting inspiration from an old style, given how the 90's were influenced by the 70's, the 00's by the 80's and the 10's by the 90's, then in this decade it's time to go back again to the 00's, which is precisely the Oops style, so if Britney doesn't do it, I'm sure someone from the new artists will go there sooner or later, whether it's in the sound, the fashion or something.

In particular I wouldn't want that precise sound to be replicated, but the song structure, that'd be great. Having that classic formula of verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-altered chorus-chorus-chorus that I mentioned in another thread, which used to be very common back then and now everyone seem to be allergic to, would be the best that could happen to music these days, especially Britney's.
