Nirvana's Generation X defining anthem " Smells like Teen Spirit" crosses 1 Billion streams on spotify

There are songs that define moments and there are songs that define the generations attitude, way of life..everything..

Nirvana's Smells like teen spirit defines what Generation X is and launched Grunge as the top mainstream genre, which would last until Kurt Cobain's suicide in 1994..

The track is their most successful track, and propelled Nirvana's Nevermind to the top of Billboard 200 where it infamously ended Michael Jackson's Dangerous album, after a brief 4 week run on top, mainly was number one during the Christmas season of 1991, as it was the most asked album on kids Christmas wish lists.

Like Madonna's material girl defined the attitude of The 80s, where power and status was respected, Smells like teen spirit defined the anger of generation X as most knew they were gonna be the first generation to suffer From the baby boomers spending habits of the 70s and the 80s.

Congrats nirvana
