Many good people have often been burdened with guilt because they felt angry or resentful towards another person who did them harm. When our rights are not being respected, we need to protect ourselves. We need not stay as helpless victims if we could do something to keep ourselves from further harm.

It's not bad to feel angry. Anger is a normal, healthy emotion. In fact, a lot of really good things stem from anger, and angry feelings can lead to positive change. Many social injustices have called for people who became angry. What if Martin Luther King, Jr. never felt angry?

Anger is not always wrong because:
Releasing anger can reduce hostility.
It motivates people to take action and achieve goals.
It can be used to show others who is in charge.
It can temporarily calm us down and reduce future outbursts of anger.
