Question about "Not a Girl" music video

I was just re-watching all of Britney's music videos, and am at "Not a girl" rn, so I just had a thought.

Did they shoot at the Grand Canyon because in some way it relates to Crossroads, like how they did a road trip? Cause I can easily imagine people stopping there while on a road trip (I'm not from the US btw). I know she sang it in the movie too.

Forgive me if this was supposed to be obvious, I am quite a late fan.

Apparently every concept for the album was to somehow relate to the album. A lot of the music was written to reflect at storylines in the movie, so yes, your theory is probably correct.

It’s not the Grand Canyon. It’s near lake Powell in utah/Arizona. But yes they shot there to tie in the crossroads road trip.

Yes there is two versions of the music video, this one is more explicit in how it relates to crossroads as it has her in multiple scenes … camp fire, hotel room etc

but yes the concept was supposed to have Britney reimagining crossroads scenes

i thought it is the Gran Canyon? i always wondered whether she actually climbed on that cliff and sat/stood there of if they used CGI?

It’s grand canyon and it was not cgi, there was an mtv making the video we’re she went further than they even asked her to go … 

ugh I feel old when fans don’t know this stuff . I remember watching making the video followed by making the movie live

I think I read she filmed the video for this song while they were filming the movie, so I guess it makes sense to have filmed at a canyon.

sorry i do remeber mtv and making the video. just not of this one! watched mtv religiously when i was a child/teen thanks, ill check the making the video out, if i can find it on youtube

Yes but it’s not Grand Canyon. Britney I think stated that once I correctly but it’s near page Arizona and Utah by lake Powell

It definitely was supposed to coincide with Crossroads the movie as I think Jive has a stake in the movie so of course they would want to promote it. Why do I hear Larry’s voice saying all this? It’s definitely something he would pitch to kill two birds with one stone as he’s done the past decade.

Genuine question: was Larry even her primary manager at this point? I thought he came into that around 2003. Johnny Wright was her main manager for the first few years no?

this video is so 'Britney" era, her jeans and boots and the way she sits is very like the 'Britney" cover, the snake from 2001 VMAs, the coloraturas of her hair, the desert from not a girl

There was supposed to be a soundtrack for Crossroads, it was cancelled and the songs from the movie went to her Britney album instead.

Yeah I love rock and roll, not a girl, not yet a women, overprotected, and bombastic love were recorded for the movie.

I really don't know why it was changed.
