So what happened in 2016?

I would like to know what’s your opinion about 2016. What could have happened to her that she regained her passion back then? I remember the fanbase discussing about her being single again possibly made the change, but knowing the facts now I just don’t know… ‘Cause in the light of recent informations we have all agreed why she had looked stiff and passionless for a whole lot of time. Why 2016 is an exception then?

 

Could it be that she was finished with an album she actually liked and contributed to? And that’s it?

Or any other reasons?

I think this is it. She made the music she liked (Unlike Circus, FF and BJ). You can hear in the music, and you can see in the performances. Things went downhill from there.

Wasn't Bryan more involved in her c-ship back then too? Not that we support him but if her dad wasn't so heavily involved in her life then that would explain it too

If I'm correct, at this time, Jamie Lynn was working on country music of her own, and Jamie chose to move to her, rather than stay with Britney. This affected his position as tour manager, if I'm correct, and Bryan was appointed this position temporarily.

Very good point. So might be her way back then to show she is only willing to give more when that jerk is out. Not sure if it was conscious but might be. Maybe she was just happier and that’s it but based on what you wrote it could be a message for her whole team…

Because Glory was created by her, Britney loves doing this - 2016 Britney was a very happy Britney at least music and performances wise. She said - it's like my baby and it's the truth.

It looked like she had creative control with Glory up until the music video for Make Me was scrapped. She seemed to put her foot down with Slumber Party though, but the whole era was cut short due to poor sales. Even though at the time the VMA performance was lackluster, it was very foreshadowing given the recent events. The Make Me performance was showing where she was with the hands all around her, and the performance with G-Eazy foreshadowed where she wants to go by hopefully getting married and being around her lover instead of her handlers. I'm also sure that she was over the residency so I think by her having a new album out it made things interesting and fun again for her.

I asked Fe after one of the Vegas shows in 2016 why Britney seemed to be in such high spirits. She said she was really excited about the revamped show because she got to provide a lot of input. Couple that with the fact that she got to be more involved with Glory and I think overall she probably felt more empowered. Turns out when she has more control, she’s more passionate and it shows in her work. What a concept!

She also had Lexi around a whole lot in that time, which (IMO) was a major factor!

I believe the changes were approved in August of 2015.

Her story about the Glory album name inspiration never seemed quite right. She said it came from her son saying to her (I’m paraphrasing from memory) “won’t it be glorious when you finish your album”.

I don’t know why, but I always felt like she was promised that the c-ship would end after that album and after Vegas. This is why she wanted to be breaking free from chains on the original album cover. So Glory had a different meaning originally IMO.
 

it would also explain the 2016 passion, and the new lows that followed up until now when the c-ship did not end.

but yea idk why she seemed to be happy during 2016 probably cuz of glory and cuz celebs usually tend to be happier when they’re single for some reason i mean at least we know why she looked like she wanted to off herself in the 2018 tour

I think she basically had 50/50 custody of her kids in practice (obviously not legally). She would always talk about making them breakfast (yet legally she is deemed unable to do that for herself smh), taking them to school etc. So I think her kids were with her a lot and she was on cloud 9. Combine that with the other professional reasons above, you have a happier Brit
