So The Scrapped Make Me Version was Larry’s idea (OPINION)

No one in this thread seems to remember the info about the 18 minute version except for me and one other person  

Larry and/or Jamie were not responsible for the cancellation. It was technically RCA. RCA didn’t believe that an 18 minute long video would do well in the age in streaming so they asked for a shorter cut. The version that leaked was Team B’s cut of the video. That’s why it’s so choppy.

As we can see, there’s still tons and tons of metaphors packed into this video (I’m not just talking about the cage scene, it goes a lot deeper than that) so clearly they weren’t concerned about any “hidden messages”. If anything, I’m doubt they noticed it and just thought of the video as weird and artsy fartsy. 
 

David LaChapelle protested Team B’s edit of the video, but it was pretty much out of their control (they were being ordered by RCA). So to get David off their back they told him Britney didn’t like the video so they hastily reshot it. When you really compare the two videos, both have a similar “story”. It’s about Britney filming a music video and hooks up with one of the dancers. Obviously David LaChapelle’s video was filled with a ton of hidden symbolism and messages and Randee’s version is an extremely watered down version of that, but granted Randee’s video was hastily filmed/put together.

I get negative vibes from this video. It makes me uncomfortable...but so does Slumber Party.

I believe Britney wanted to tell us her life with glory…maybe even karen Kwak head of a&r was secretly helping Britney. It’s said around 2016 Britney realized one of things she learned she could have power over was her albums. I truly believe she scrapped what we pretty world was. We know the kind of music Britney likes making and it’s not teen pop! 
 

she was dancing in a cage with red paint….she was trying to tell us Larry and Jamie didn’t let this story get out..

when she interviewed on jonothan Ross during glory promo she spoke of the conservatorship…I believe this was the year Britney started fight back… I said a thread about why happened in 2016 I’m gonna go check that one out now lol

i don't understand all the fuzz  about this overrated scrapped video, it's her most boring lead single.

nothing iconic about this, the aesthetic and  he cinematography looks a bit corny and tacky, way too much nudity, it feels vulgar, it's more like a madonna video than a Britney video with all the gay dancers. i think she prob would have got backlash if they released this.

My theory: I think her team was threatened by it. In a way she was telling on them and they caught wind of it and canceled it. Then blamed it on Britney to get LaChapelle off their backs.

First of all music ideas and scrips are made and approved before making the music video it’s not like they made the video blindside.

i honestly believe her team and Cship didn’t wanna bring any attention to light in regards to her in a cage and chain to a house. That would raised eyebrows. Secondly Britney has always been really artistic but some how they always trash the original music videos she always meant to die in her music yet they film it and and decide to remake them or edit those parts out. And we get a washed out Disney film.

I honestly believe Britney like the music video but came down to her Cship and the record label not approving it in the end and decided re shoot

It makes no sense because what we saw are just random unedited scenes (almost like outtakes). David himself said it, he had anything to do with the leaked cuts. 

It was like seeing a dress draft in paper and not the actual dress made in fabric with details worn by a person. Way different.

She is under conservatorship, trapped in a cage, chained to a house that evict her. This is all the symbolism that Primeney could pull off. Not to mention she is on fire in that red leotard. If anything, Britney want it to be longer so it can tell a bigger story. Team conservatorship realizes the symbolism and ask Lachapelle to edit some parts of the video. He refuse and Larry made it look as if it was Britney's choice.

Toxic and Everytime also look stupid and made no sense, yet they are cultural masterpiece.
