Paris Hilton is not offended by Britney's comments at last week's hearing

Paris Hilton is "not offended" by the comments Britney Spears made about her during a court testimony for her ongoing conservatorship battle, a source tells ET.

"Paris and Britney have known each other and been friends for years," the source says. "Paris knows Britney's comments were taken out of context and not meant to be an attack against her or what she's been through by any means."

"Paris fully supports Britney and knows Britney has her back too," adds the source. "They've shared so many memories together over the years and Paris is confident in their relationship."

Just days after the hearing, Paris -- who has been a longtime supporter of the #FreeBritney movement -- declared "Free Britney" while performing a DJ set at the grand opening of Resorts World Las Vegas. The viral hashtag was created by fans and still used today by people who claim that Britney is being held against her will, and is trying to call for help through her social media posts.

"We love you, Britney," Paris exclaimed. "Free Britney."

Paris also played Britney's 2007 song, "Piece of Me," at one point, telling the crowd that she was dedicating it to the singer, whom she called "a queen, a legend." "We are thinking of you," she added. "I love you, Britney."

Paris also expressed her support for Britney while chatting with ET on the red carpet at the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted back in May.

"I love her," she gushed at the time. "I was actually texting her last week, and she's just so sweet and down to earth and really an amazing woman. I'm so proud of her."

Could someone tell me what Britney meant when she said she couldn't believe that París thing? :parisok_hilton_chewing_gum_pink_phone_Reading:

Something about a school :yesokay_britney_blush_blink:

Paris has a documentary that came out last year on YouTube where she talks about this abusive and horrific reform school/bootcamp she was sent to as a teen and how it impacted her. It was pretty alarming again because she's wealthy and famous and also that those sort of abuse was happening.

I wonder if Paris has an NDA with team con. She seems to be close to Britney and still talks to her but hasn't said anything really damning about the conservatorship.

Of course she's not mad, she understand what Britney meant. When Britney said it, it felt like she was saying "Paris is rich and famous, there's no way something that horrible could happen to her" and I think she was saying that as she felt like people wouldn't believe her if she said anything about how horrible her c-ship is.

As what Paris said was kind of unbelievable because of how horrible it was, Britney felt people wouldn't believe her this same way. At least that's how I understood it.

This is how I kinda got it, but sadly Britney was too nervous to correctly tone and express this idea. But yeah it was along these lines, I truly believe. She was on video, so perhaps there was some additional visual aid to this we didn't get to see.

@ralphcornio she expressed it very clearly. As someone who's been to grammar school, done English for 6 years with really good grades and as someone who has English certificates, it was very clear as to what she meant. I don't remember thinking it was up for interpretation at all. Britney was simply giving an example in the form of an anecdote to substantiate her own argument as to why she didn't come out to the world sooner. To top it off, she very clearly said she didn't believe Paris' story "when she first heard about it". Not only does this obviously imply she believes it now, it leaves it up for interpretation as to how she got to know about the situation. Knowing Britney, she probably first heard about it through paparazzi. Of course she wouldn't believe it. Paris herself has said in an interview Paris' and Britney's topics are light and that Paris hadn't really shared this with anyone, so I doubt Britney heard it from Paris or through her documentary.

Women being put against each other and Britney's words being taken out of context isn't something new, but this in particular is frustrating because Paris has been so supportive of Britney.
