OMG. What's your reaction to the BBC's new Britney documentary?!

Got up at 8am to watch in UK.

It’s obviously a mixed bag as it is an ongoing case & nowhere near resolution. However it does bring up a few questions.

Overall I enjoyed it and it will definitely get people talking!

I think it’s going into more present detail than Framing Britney Spears did (as felt FBS was too focused on the buildup to the breakdown etc). This documentary is more present events- which I enjoyed.

- Touches on the dementia claim and shows the court papers. 

- The world will now know Loucifer is pulling the puppet strings.

- People in Kentwood saying she’s a hometown hero. Which was amazing for me to hear as I don’t know why, but I thought they like to disassociate themselves with her. Ps- I HAVE to visit that museum! 

- Sam’s weekly paycheque spoke about #corruption. 

- @Jordan Miller- you got your cameo 

- The Perez snippet circulating is clickbait... he shows a somewhat genuine attempt at empathy/ apology and knows his actions of the past were so wrong. Take from it what you will. 

- Guess we can say/think what we want about Billy B- but he is very pro #freebritney in the doc (and always I guess). So that can only be a good thing. 

- James declines to comment & Lou’s team hit BBC with a large legal document along with death threats the fans have tweeted her (definitely not helping the cause! But anyway...).

- It interviews another family involved in a conservatorship (I missed who the celeb father was that was in the conservatorship sorry). The daughter has raised few worrying concerns that whilst we are all fighting to get Jamie off... that a court appointed conservator would perhaps not be a better option as they have no personal interest & will drain her dry.

 

It’s a great documentary and I’d say about 90% pro FreeBritney. If you’re being mature and realistic... it’s obvious that they have to look at the other side. However none of the documentary paints Britney as a person- in a bad light (in my opinion anyway).

There’s just so many people that care about her and it’s hard as we all only know so much information.

It ended confirming June’s court date. So it’s optimistic Britney’s voice will hopefully clarify things one way or another.

It sounds promising from your review. I like that they interviewed another family involved in a conservatorship, and it sounds like they shed light on corruption from their own experience. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn’t like the presenter very much. He was very dismissive of the fans from the moment he saw the death threats to Lou. I honestly don’t believe those death threats are even real or were sent by fans, but if they were then they weren’t sent by actual supporters of the movement. 
 

This hasn’t done much to help Britneys case, but I don’t think it’s really damaged it either so oh well.

The woman sheds light on how restrictive they can be and they harm they can do. 
 

Lisa is in it, but not for very long. She spoke sense as usual.

I am halfway through. Not a big fan of the presenter. He is trying to be neutral, I guess, trying not to take any sides. But I have a feeling this documentary paints the fans as crazy lunatics.

It sounds like it was done from a less bias but informative POV. I’ll definitely enjoy it if so.
I’m happy it focuses more on the conservatorship vs. her victim status over the years. Hopefully this will further shift the conversation towards actual legalities and push the needle in the right direction.
I hope it whips sensitive fans into shape as well because rationally speaking, the fans need a reality check. This situation is comparable to diagnosing yourself with an illness via Google but from a legal perspective. Good review and I can’t wait to check it out. Thank you!

I totally see there are some points where it talks about the fans and the death threats/ ridiculous conspiracy theories etc make us look slightly wack.

But you have to remember that... that is the minority of the fan base (or at least what I like to tell myself ha!)

They also interviewed some amazing fans who are doing wonders for speaking up in a positive & mature way. So it shows both sides of the fan base in my opinion. 

You go on the directors twitter and there’s so many hateful tweets about boycotting it. Calling it ‘trash’ etc before even seeing it due to people he chose to interview etc. It’s embarrassingly immature. Small number of cringe stans that are bringing us down. Everyone is just so built up at the moment though. So what can you do?!

But we will continue to spread positivity and constructive information- to help Britney & the movement

Just finished watching it.

It brings it to the attention of the British public which is good, however I definitely wanted more.

Mobeen definitely seems to sit in the middle in terms of believing what the fans say. He played some of the 2018 BritneysGram voicemail and suggested that it could also be a lie/hoax (maybe to cover his back from being sued who knows) 

There is definitely a focus on the fans though, which comes up a lot. Death threats to Lou Taylor/Perez/Brian which I feel discredits us a lot.

Lou Taylor sent Mobeen an email saying she didn't help set up the conservatorship, and from there it was just kind of left, painting an answer that she wasn't, when we all know she was! I wanted him to delve more into that tbh, and get answers you know.

Why can't we just play the videos of Lou and Jamie being in the car together. Why does she get away with everything? She infuriates me.
