On Tuesday, the "Dancing with the Devil" songstress, 28, rang in the w**d-themed holiday in a snapshot shared to her Instagram Story that featured the star smoking a bowl while sitting comfortably on a hammock in front of a scenic ocean view.

"Happy 420," she wrote on the photo.

Lovato accompanied her post with her song, "California Sober" — a term she's used to describe her current sobriety state, meaning she abstains from all ***** with the exception of w**d and alcohol.

Some people online were not happy about her post..

One fan wrote: "not demi lovato showing off her smoking w**d on her stories... idk some followers might struggle with it. 

"It might not cause physical addiction but can be a hard vice for people still...."

A second one tweeted: "Something about Demi Lovato sitting in Hawaii posting pics smoking w**d while simultaneously trying to take down a small business for having options for diabetics just doesn’t sit right with me."

And a third one said: "not Demi Lovato being triggered by yogurt shops for eating disorders and recovery and then glamorizing the use of w**d to her 102 million followers on Instagram? 

"everyone is entitled to do what they want but don’t be a hypocrite in the process."

When she goes back to the hard ***** and has another overdose I don’t want to see another documentary from her dumb ***. She does all this for attention and we are feeding right into it. Sooner or later the alcohol and w**d is not going to be enough

I'm not here to tell Demi how she should live her life by any means, nor anyone else. However, as a habitual w**d smoker and lord knows I love my cocktails, I am well aware of the mental effects of w**d and alcohol. I would think, for Demi, it would be more about staying in the present, mentally. Vices are an escape. I think she needs to try her hand with mental clarity first. She's recently recovering, she should not be ready for escapism. These things she is telling herself are straight up denial. #DEMIAL

It’s not because she talks about her problems? It’s because she uses her problems to promote her work and says controversial things for attention (and because she’s not very educated... let’s be real).

She’s an addict. She’s overdosed and she’s struggled with an eating disorder her entire life. She cannot seem to take accountability... it’s always her team, her dealer, the industry, this that blah blah, no. She needs to take a long look at herself in the mirror and realize the only person who’s going to look out for her is her. She needs to get out of LA and lay low, do some soul searching, and find inner peace. An addict to hardcore ***** should lay off substances because it may trigger her to seek out hard ***** again. She is also using her stupid song “California Sober” to promote this way of treatment to her fans. She thinks smoking a little w**d and drinking a little wine is fine as long as you moderate it but HELLO. That’s the problem with an addict. They cannot moderate. Demi has the money and resources to really do better but she lacks direction and good people around her. She’s surrounded by yes people and no one has the balls to tell her to get it the f together. 

Personally, I’d prefer she smoke w**d and not drink but if she’s still drinking, I personally don’t have much hope for her in terms of another relapse. Also, I’m a little worried because if she is smoking w**d often, then she’s going to need more and more w**d to get high and eventually it won’t get her the ‘high’ she seeks and she may seek out harder *****.

She seems to be crying out for help on social media with all these posts and attention seeking. She is in a constant cycle of trying to prove to everyone that she is okay but the GP has realized her tactics and we don’t fall for it anymore and that’s a reason we’re all so tired of her.

She's been attempting to be a mental health advocate but is still doing ***** and having alcohol despite saying she was an addict.

She is not a good example for those struggling and who the hell is she to advocate when she does this.

She must have fans who have struggles with alcohol/w**d addiction and that may have been why they connected with her, however here she is flouting it saying 'moderation' is fine - when you have an addiction that is a slippery slope.

Because for starters, she's a ******* hypocrite. After all her problems with hard ***** she's still smoking w**d (aka the gateway ****) and drinking, which will inevitably cause her to relapse back to coke and whatever other hard ***** she was using in the past. It's an endless cycle and some of us are sick of her not learning her lesson.
