Is this some weird exclusive platform thing again? She’s never gonna become relevant in the US again if she keeps trying these gimmicks. :ririshade2_rihanna_eyeroll_roll_eyes_annoyed_irritated_mad:

NFT's are Non Fungible Tokens. They are based on the cryptocurrencies blockchain algorithm. It's basically digital trading cards.

They are a new way of collecting things that are valuable and right now they are very pricey.

She's actually quite smart if this is executed well. She's getting on NFT's early (like if you got in on Bitcoin early) and it can be a very lucrative investment if you buy it and the song becomes a hit.

Soon people will be trading pop-culture moments as NFT's, MTV should get in on this.

What does that mean for fans who want to buy her music? Does that mean it’s more expensive for the consumer?

You'll still be able to buy the song for a normal price/stream (if it's released on the proper services). However let's say someone gets ahold of the first copy or the original stem's that can be traded for a lot of money.

So if she sells her original recordings of the song, that can possibly be worth thousands, depending if the market wants to buy it.

Think of it like paintings or art or really rare Pokemon cards. They are only worth what they are because people are willing to pay that price.

So you'll be able to buy the song for a regular price - but that's a copy of the original recording right. It looks like she's selling the original recording and if people are willing to pay a lot, it can be a really rare item.
