''Lowercase trend'' in song titles is so annoying

but for me it just sets a different mood to the song.

It does give me a different mood too, it makes them look cheaper, disposable, amateur, idk, it feels like it's not serious, like it's just something they're uploading to their social media or something.

Even Britney named her photoshoot “Just a Touch of Red“. It's a convention that has existed since forever, not just for song titles, but also books, series, any kind of official document or report / research, etc.

Yes, they're free to name their "art" whatever they want, but what is even the point? Like what are they trying to prove or what is the benefit of doing that? It's not even original if so many are doing it now, and it's even more pointless if their old songs are still using the old convention.

This is what sets you off in today's music landscape? Not the fact that songs are basically interludes now? Not that every pop song is essentially without a proper chorus and missing a bridge? I'll take lowercase letters any day. I don't mind them at all. It's actually quite nice.

I think I agree with you, but can’t really think of songs missing choruses etc. Which come to mind for you?

No but these are official accounts, professional music etc. and it just looks so weird, ugly and unnecessary. There are some rules, start a sentence with capital letter, especially if it's something professional lol

If you look at the business side of it, sure. But don't forget that music is a type of art. Change of orthography such as having lowercase words, no punctuation, and so on, are part of the post-modernist wave in art and culture. If you were to blame somebody for the lowercase words, blame the poet E.E.Cu_mmings. Look:

this is a rubbish...") by E. E. Cummings | Poetry Magazine

I personally don't approve of it but I understand why it's happening. In this age when we talk about fluidity and breaking the norms, you find a reflection of these social changes in art too. This article kinda touches upon this topic: https://www.vice.com/en/article/y3z45v/internet-lowercase-spelling-taylor-swift-charli-xcx

“There is a way in which these writing systems and orthography have taken on trendy or artsy connotations, without particular attention to its history. As soon as you might see someone using unconventional capitalisation on their single you see it on commercials for Target. It has become a way for brands to be relevant and connected to their audiences. It appeals to folks for the sake of profit rather than being actually disruptive.”

My idea of a song without a chorus is really just ones that repeat the same word over and over. Or just the same sentence repeated. They feel like less of a chorus and more of a pre-chorus. Up by Cardi, for example. Body by Megan. Trying to think of non-hiphop ones but maybe some of the pop girls have re-introduced them a little?
