It's just a cop out for it underperforming.

Y‘all are blasphemic and definitely born after 2010 to not remember these godly statements:

U can't sound more 2009 than that album     Related:

Bionic is garbage, and so are her later albums.  Great voice but her music this decade has been mediocre.  Her last good song was Your Body, and thats like a decade old.  She needs to come back hard with her next album otherwise she will remain a hasbeen:truthtea_sips_britney_2011_ff_femme_fatale_red_mug_spill:

The Fighters are quite delusional when it comes to Bionic, no offense. So are a lot of Monsters who use the same excuse for  Artpop. :tifflmao_lol_haha_hehe_miss_new_york_laugh_ms_tiffany_pollard_cackle: It's just the de facto argument that stans use when their fave's album underperforms. In regards to Bionic specifically, it was behind the times by at least 2 years. Had it been released in early 2008, it would've probably been a lot more successful imo.

Agree!

The only album I feel was ahead of it’s time was Blackout 😛

Because some people are delusional.

The album has an amazing production, that's all.

But its main problem, which fans fail to mention, is that in these songs Xtina, a fantastic artist with a unique personality and charisma, SOUNDS LIKE EVERY ARTIST WITH WHICH SHE COLLABORATES. She got lost in THEIR sound. That's terrible for someone of her caliber. Also, "Lose Myself Tonight" was too in-your-face, just like all her first singles from each album basically (except for "Genie").

If bionic is of it’s time how is femme fatale of its time when they are similar styles, but different in a lot of ways

most mainstream music from 2008-2011 aged like milk in my opinion... i just can't listen to any dancepop from 2008-2011 anymore.

I think one of the easiest ways for an artist to know if their music will sound dated is to take a listen to what else is coming out at the same time and try to avoid copying too many trends. If it's borrowing a lot of other currently-popular elements from other songs, there's a chance that trend will wear itself out and as a result will forever be seen as a sound of the year it was released in.

Agreed lol. I wanted to enjoy it but I just didn't. The only song I semi like is Not Myself Tonight and I don't even really like that one lol.

Christina Aguilera is one of the pop-veterans we grew up with:tifftear_miss_ny_new_york_ms_crying_wipe_tears_sad:

don't you dare disparage her name with your hateful comments :tiffanycries_ny_new_york_miss_tiffany_pollard_crying_tears_sobbing_sad:

Britney, Christina, Beyonce are the only survivors from the late 90s :wendycry_wiliams_panicked_crying_tears_upset_sad:

As of Bionic, "You Lost Me" is bigger than Lady Gaga's entire catalogue :tiffcackle_Tiffany_miss_ny_New_York_pollard_laugh_giggle_lol_haha_hehe:

I won’t accept this outrage. Clearly you haven’t heard the whole album. I suppose you like Lotus, the worst album ever.

birds of prey, all I need, Monday morning, primadonna, desnudate, *** for breakfast are effin amazing

I think the problem with this album is that Xtina tried way too hard to actually make Bionic ahead of its time, and something genuine and natural got lost in the process. In the end Bionic turned out to be a bit pretentious and forced, imo.

I love You Lost Me from that album. And I loved all her albums previous to Bionic. But she hasn’t released a solid album since Back to Basics.

You lost me is prob one of the only songs from that album that has stood the test of time

I wouldnt say Bionic is AHEAD of its time... but it sure was more "edgy"... experimental... different from what we were (at least I was) listening at that time...

I do like it WAS really expecting it to be RE released on vinyl. It IS a SOLID album FOR SURE!!!!
