2000 was amazing. She looked beyond perfection and the peformance itself was out of this world. 

2003 was extremely fun and shocking. 

2007 was plain bad. 

2001 was a cultural reset for the whole pop landscape. The song, the snake, the look, the choreography, the props... It's just unforgettable. On of the best pop performances of all time. Her best performance to date. Legendary and Iconique.

I voted for 2007 bc I love an underdog.

I see it as misunderstood performance art and it shows the humanity in what a perfect pop star is supposed to be.

I also relate to it the most, being a messy queen. I've had plenty of these performances myself.

For me personally, her best performance was in 2000. Her most difficult (mentally) performance, and that's the only reason I would rate her higher, was 2016. The 2016 performances are good proof that Britney is mentally fit. I think the pressure was incredible not to fail. The world watched the first VMA performance since 2007

It was hard picking between 2000 and 2001 but I went 2000 because I remember my mind being so blown by it at the time.

2000. 2001 was an incredible performance, but, it seemed excessive with the animals. She had so much pressure on her to top the prior years performance so they went a little extra. The 2000 performance proved with Britney sometimes less is more. She got kinda lost on that stage in 2001 with so much going on around her. Although it was fun to watch her strut around with Justin Timberlake around her neck.

I love them all for different reasons. But the 2000 one really captures why I'm a stan.

I would pick 2000. We got a live vocal performance of "I Can't Get No" and a little bit of "Oops", then she ripped her clothes to reveal what was back then a risky outfit and she danced her butt off.

This. The energy was great but she lacked fluidity and many parts of the choreo were simply just awkward and incohesive to the rhythm of the song. I also found the stage a little too minimalistic for such an extravaganza and hate how she got shuffled in the back by standing on that orb for almost the entire part of the Oops segment. It’s a memorable performance but also highly overrated in terms of quality. The highlight is really only the very beginning and at the end when she drops to the floor.

So I was the only who voted for 2003 honestly, all four are equally iconic to me. But all for different reasons. I find every single VMA performance of Britney sensational 

Adding the 2016 one as great - being a brave comeback (And maybe exluding the one with Nsync)

the 2007 one matched the song if u think about it, the mood-performance wouldn't have fitted toxic for instance, or even oops/slave 

and she still gave more energy than dua lipa 

love her nonetheless
