Billboard: 'Framing Britney Spears' Documentary Drives 1 Million Tweets Since Premiere

Since the Friday premiere of The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears, there have been more than 1 million tweets about the pop star and the buzzy documentary, Twitter announced Wednesday (Feb. 10), including 220,000 tweets using the #FreeBritney hashtag.

Twitter conversation around the FX doc -- which takes a closer look at the conservatorship in charge of Spears' estate and the #FreeBritney movement that has cropped up in the past year-plus -- spiked on Tuesday when Britney's boyfriend, Sam Asghari, spoke out about the singer's ongoing situation, driving 16,000 tweets over the next hour.
