i dont know how its called in italy, my grandmother teach me how to cook one. In greece we just called it σαλτσα ντοματας maybe even just σαλτσα , wich translate to tomato sause or just sause beacause its very common in greek cusine :clownery_makeup_meme:

yes it's the same, it's sauce made only with tomato. When we made "sugo" we put in it a lot of other things along tomato
