I hope this continues to make WAVES over the weekend through to the the court date. It will be hard to ignore Framing Britney Spears as the elephant in the room in the court hearing

I wish they had put in some clips of the many celebs who trashed her in 2007, like that POS Sarah Silverman, those people deserve to be called out on a big platform like this doco, id love to see that one day - sooooo many people owe her an apology. I’m definitely seeing lots of feedback of people shocked by how bad she was treated, which this doco showed but I feel like it still didn’t 100% capture how completely awful it was, they didn’t put in what, in my opinion, is  the saddest clip of Britney, where she is walking her dog and the paps swarm her and she just ends up sitting on the curb crying, that clip is devastating. They could’ve also mentioned how devastated she was after the divorce and her aunt passing away as these things contributed so much to 07. I understand they couldn’t get everything in but one day I’d love to see a big release that also mentions stuff like Original Doll.

I’ve just watched the documentary and one thing that was poignant was how much I wanted to cry throughout. Like there were so many times where I was like wow I’m so proud to be a fan then other moments seeing her massive downfall and how horrible people were to her. We aren’t going back 100 years here this **** happened literally 14 years ago. 

I got so mad over the media’s treatment of her. The game show where they were saying “what has Britney lost this year” it made me feel so much rage. They were alluding to her mind, her kids, her hair. How that was allowed to air is just beyond me. Everyone laughed it off and joined in the circus that was Britney’s life. It almost became a kind of sport. The paparazzi interviewed never once apologised or said sorry. He just kept saying how she never told them to go away. Are you thick? Like seriously. Can’t you see how fragile she was?

I was particularly interested by Felicia’s interview. I was surprised when she spoke about not being hired back in 2008 by Britney’s team directly but through another company plus her role was completely different for the Circus tour. Even Felicia who was a family friend and was so close to Britney was excluded from the inside circle. This makes me see Larry in an even worse light than I initially considered. Larry who had known Britney since she was a teenager and had been with her since the beginning literally didn’t have any intention in inviting Felicia back, he was happy for Britney to be forced on stage as early as 2008. He’s such a snake and back stabber after everything he’d been through with Britney.

I got angry at how her family have betrayed her. Particularly Lynne. Lynne is Britney’s mother but she is so absent from her current life. Literally how was this conservatorship brought into place without Lynne being involved. Why was Jamie (an alcoholic who had previously been in rehab and was bankrupt) ever put in charge in the first place. Surely the judges must have saw his rocky past. Lynne wanted to get involved in 2019!! 2019!!! Literally this had been going on for 11 years by that point almost 12. Where the **** was she from 2008+. I remember reading her book and thinking she cared so much but now I’m really unsure what kind of mother she is. She was literally trying to sell a book through one of the worst phases of Britney’s life. Where the hell was she?! Surely she could have intervened when she realised her 30 year old daughter didn’t have any rights, no cell phone or even worse was in a rehab facility for nothing more than failing to comply with Jamie. Why didn’t she stand up and stop this?

I really really really hope at the end of all this Felicia is right and she does tell her story. I hope she can sit down one day in the very near future and tell her story then continue doing whatever makes her happy. She deserves it so much.

THIS THIS THIS and EVE-RY-THING about this. 

There were so many moments when I literally wanted to cry, especially thinking how relatively recent it was that everybody looked at her as a a punchline rather than a human being with actual feelings.

I think what also got to me was not only the media's treatment of her, but the fact that I bought into it at the time. I became a fan in elementary school when she released BOMT and by the time I was in high school, I wanted to defend her but I was so naive that I was like "well if she's acting this crazy and going out every night instead of being with her kids, she deserves it". I started to get angry watching that game show, but what really got me was the paparazzo who was interviewed. He tried to act like he genuinely wanted to make sure she was ok, yet never turned off his camera, despite clearly seeing she was in distress. For him to say "she never told us to go away except maybe every once in awhile she wanted us to leave her alone THAT DAY, but not permanently" destroyed any credibility and made my blood boil.

"She wanted to see her kids but couldn't and she was really upset so I was worried about her, yet I still took video and pictures in order to get a money shot. She told Matt Lauer in a highly-watched interview that she wanted the paparazzi to leave her alone, yet she never told US to go away so she must be ok with it." Mind-boggling and infuriating. No apology, no looking back in hindsight and thinking hmm maybe we should have been more sensitive. Nope, just more excuses. Gross.

They did Felicia so dirty. How they could take someone who basically served as a parent to Britney and reduce her to giving backstage tours was sickening. I'm sure there will be people making fun of Fe and her accent and how she doesn't seem educated, but really it's Larry, the so-called intelligent entertainment impresario who looked like a moron. "We dIdn'T foRCE BrITNEy into TReatMENT becausE we DOn't HaVE tHe poWEr to dO sO" Hey a-hole, that's exactly the kind of power her conservators have - TO MAKE MEDICAL DECISIONS ON HER BEHALF. Felicia may not have known what a conservatorship is, but at least she's not stupid enough to make such a bald-faced lie. 

I was more angry with her brother than Lynne. I think Lynne has tried to do right by Britney, and you can see that the two of them have a deep and special relationship, but it's also important to remember she was likely living as an abused wife with three kids who was trying to find a way out of being with some violent drunk loser in a small town where clearly women are supposed to stay quiet and do as they're told. That's what pissed me off about Bryan and I'm so glad the interviewer called him out on it - "oh the women in our family are strong-willed and are always trying to make their own decisions" and the interviewer said something like "right....like any human being does". To watch her big brother throw her under the bus and basically say "yeah she's unhappy and maybe doesn't need the c-ship like she did before but she's tough and opinionated and so maybe this muzzle conservatorship is what's best for the sake of our family dynamic" was just nauseating. 

I'm cautiously optimistic that this will not only be a turning point in the way the media perceives Britney, but will also give support to her desire to break free, and once the legal battles are over she can candidly speak her truth. 

P.S. Diane Sawyer is a miserable piece of work who should be ashamed of herself

The New York Times did not come to play. Thoreen and that paparazzo must be fuming at how ignorant they looked in how instrumental they were in all of this.

 

This is a moment we all waited for; jamie is no longer the saviour in a media narrative.

Again that’s why I said that if that’s the case her being openly talking about it would be good for mental health representation. The stigma over those illness are really horrible, imagine a celebrity hiding a cancer nowadays, no one would hide a cancer, they would hide AIDS or a mental condition, which is really really sad

Finally finished watching. WHAT A DOCUMENTARY. It was so well informed and I think it’s a great piece of information for the GP who want to find out a bit more about Britney’s situation.

Looking back at the 2007-2008 footage with the paparazzi almost brought me to tears. The stuff with Justin angered me as well, and I think it goes to show that he’s been able to benefit from male privilege and let Britney take the blame for their breakup. Goes to show how much ***ism Britney had to put up with. I hope Diane Sawyer publicly apologises to her.

It was great to see what Fi had to say, but it’s sad Britney’s team basically shun her out since the breakdown. I think she really misses Britney.

I liked all the fan footage they showed, as well as the scenes from the protests outside of the courtroom. It was also nice seeing some of the throwback pics and clips of Britney from over the years.

Obviously there could have been more info shown, but they did a good job at presenting the main facts coherently and it was easy to follow.

I wonder if Fe not being Britney’s assistant again was a Britney thing. Andre and others were allowed back. I think Britney might’ve felt Fe would report back to Lynne..i don’t think that was all team con. Britney was very upset with Fe when she spoke to Ruben from world of Britney.

I wish they spoke more about her videos and performances that made her so big! I’m shocked they also didn’t talk about the kiss with Madonna. She was slammed for that! 

And then all those other people who trashed her like Sarah Silverman. 
 

it would have been nice if they interviewed Carson Daily. He knew her so well and then it all changed because of her team. 

I would also like to add that interviews with fans would be a nice touch. I remember how kids bullied me when Britney shaved her head. They thought I was also going to do it. There were a few times that I would walk off the bus and guys wanted to beat me up because I like her.

I did wonder that. 

I felt like had Britney really wanted Felicia as her assistant she would have made it happen and they’d have brought her in to basically shut her up. Perhaps she had moved on in her life and she felt like Brett was a better friend for where she was at at that point in her life. I used to hate Brett but now I have a feeling she may have been one of Britney’s realer friends and not another people pleaser which she had a lot of around her at that time. 

I do think they are still friends now but it’s hard to judge as we don’t see a lot of Britney behind the scenes anymore. It’s sort of odd in a sense as you’d think they’d have more in common now as they are older and more mature but in actual fact the dynamic worked perfectly back in the day when there was a big age gap. The relationship has definitely changed though but that’s normal life we all have relationships with people that change over time.

Fe was simply put apart because she was too good, you can see at her eyes, this woman is pure goodness.

Removing her was too strong, Britney would have been lost, they just changed her relationship and "power".

They definitely wanted her out of touch. Powerless but still present.

Brett was definitely not at her place, everytime we saw her she was anxious, lost and clearly something was wrong behind the scenes. I even saw her crying during the Femme Fatale show, I wanted to take a pic with her.

I mean, look at the documentary, she spoke without fear. She stand for Britney's good since 1997.

I think the only thing I didn't like about the documentary was that they only frame Jamie as being someone to not trust, when honestly I've been side eyeing Lynn for years. Yes, Jamie is **** and should no longer have control, but them glossing over what an absolute stage mom she was desperately trying anything and everything to make her daughter a star is strange to me. They were on the pageant circuit, every talent show imaginable, traveling super far. It's very obvious that Britney's success was the families meal ticket out of being poor. That doesn't just fall on her father, it should fall on Lynn as well. Her dad said his baby would buy him a boat one day, well from what I remember she bought her mom an entire mansion, and her dad stayed in their childhood home so they both benefited from her success. They also don't mention her mom writing a tell all about her? Or that she never stepped up to get her out of the conservatorship until her reputation was on the line and fans were breathing down her neck. Why did it take her over 10 years to finally step in? They both are sus as hell.
