Cardi B Lands First Starring Movie Role in Paramount Comedy ‘Assisted Living’

According to Variety exclusive, Cardi B will be the leading star of a movie that got film studios into a competitive biding war in 2019. This will be her first ever leading role.

"“Assisted Living” is being described as a “raucous comedy” with “tremendous heart,” in the vein of classic funny films like “Tootsie,” “Sister Act” and “Mrs. Doubtfire.” It follows Amber (Cardi B), a small-time crook who finds herself in over her head when a heist goes wrong. On the run from the cops and her former crew, she struggles to find anywhere to hide. Running out of options, Amber disguises herself as an elderly woman and hides out in the one place no one will look — her estranged grandmother’s nursing home."

Cardi B, the Grammy-award winning artist, has made cameo appearances in 'Hustlers' and upcoming film 'F9' (Fast and Furious sequel), so she's building up her filmography.

I think Cardi can be really hilarious, but I'm not sure if she's just playing herself because she has a really strong character.
