Taylor swift makes music history... as usual

Taylor swift,  Future 3 time album of the year winner (since Grammys go for best sellers and popular ones), folklore helped Taylor make musical history.  

 

Since MRC started tracking sales data in the US. 

Taylor basically became the only artist to have 5 yearly best sellers. 

 

If you look at the top ten she was the only one to sell over a million albums pure.

 

The second biggest 2020 release only sold half of that,  not even reaching 700,000.

 

Congrats to the only remaining pure sales queen ever.

I hope I can live much longer to see how long she can sustain her peak. I'm so curious. Because she can basically sell anything, anytime.

To be fair, Folklore and evermore is mostly successful in the US and the UK. 

And honestly that's ok. I don't think she will recapture what she did with 1989.

Even looking at reputation outside UK and Ireland,  plus Australia the album wasn't as successful. 

In. Italy it is well known it went from #3 to #36 in it's second week. So international success I believe happened cos Max Martin was at his oesk8, and 1989 was his last album to be huge success....

 

 

I've noticed since trap took over for pop. his brand of Swedish pop is well no longer in style anymore.
