So I’m not a Trump supporter but IDK how I feel about this. Its feels like social media is trying to censor a lot of people.

On the other hand we need to address and kill hate speech. Maybe this is the way? My question is where are we going to draw the line on censorship? In some ways I have seen it displayed on here, but thats when a topic gets out of hand.

There has to boundaries but I feel like if someone doesn’t align themselves with the majority then they are the minority and in return silenced. I’m afraid social media outlets are gaining too much control of free speech...

Exactly. We're living a very delicate and fragile moment in terms of free speech, censorship, dictatorship... We cannot tolerate power decide what's good, bad... It's not conspiracy theory. In the 'Cancel culture', it's so easy to spread manipulation in the mases. They cancel people who express opinions which does not follow the 'correct' message. So, that's not democracy and we cannot tolerate it. We should respect ourselves and we should respect our freedom. If we praise any kind of censhorship, we're going against us, against our own freedom. That's scary.

In democracy, we should know dialogue, different opinions and different sides. We cannot 'censor' other sides because we want to win. That's not the way, and nobody is able to use their power to censor nor decide the good/bad side to be part of.

It's part of education, and we should teach our kids and new genetations, to have their own opinions, ideology, moral, rights, values... we can't let them think it's all about politically correct. It's a really dangerous time, and we need to be aware of our rights and respect for our freedom.

Freedom of speech has its limitations. You can't walk into a crowded theater and shout 'FIRE!' if there isn't one just because one feels like they should be allowed to.

This is incorrect, and a tired old cliché. You can shout 'FIRE!', but the first amendment cannot be used as defense if you are prosecuted. It is not illegal in itself.

Mhm he almost literally called people to go and do something about it. He's a leader and needs to be hold accountable of what his words can do.

He kinda organised a mini-war at W. DC. which he totally should get banned for imo.

For example: ISIS sympathizers and recruiters get banned as well and imo Trump is kinda doing the same but on a smaller base, both provoke hate/violence.

He constantly shares or makes up fake news himself, provoking people, getting people violent, ... nope this isn't cencorship but keeping the world a better place.

It was a metaphor. And figuratively the Capitol was, for all intents and purposes, engulfed in flames.

He loved what was happening.

Omg Jordan duh it was a metaphor.

no it was not figuratively in flames. The building still stands. It’s still 100% operational, just needs some cleanup. Much less cleanup than other privately owned and government owned establishments that were literally set on fire this past year. Remember 2020?

Yea, no he didn’t. he loved seeing the stand against obvious tyranny, true. But he told people to stop being destructive bc he knows it doesn’t help anything.

Protest is perfectly legal. Some took it too far. Same with BLM and antifa. Did their leaders get banned from social media? No, they got millions of dollars in donations, actually.

It's not a good comparision. If he shares fake news and all that, we have to reject his actions but we can't let individuals like Mark Zuckerberg use his power like that. Censorship is wrong in every side, and it's really dangerous for our future.

Trump using censorship would be rejected, so it should be in this case as well.

So Mark Zuckerberg can do what he wants. it's his platform.

His rules his way.

If you hate it. Then why are you on the internet in the first place.

He's protected by Congress to.

Look at a certain section about technology platforms. he's protected and has legal rights to censor anyone he wants to.

Please define "almost literally". Afaik, he has always condemned violence no matter which side it came from.

Who are you to tell others what makes the world a "better" place?

In my opinion, you cannot condemn the rioting and also say "I love you, you're very special".

It's very much in the same vein of him saying there are "very fine people on both sides" at the Charlottesville white supremacist rally.

In these situations, you cannot give mixed signals, or it just fuels the aggressors view.

You really think hate, fake news, people that want to take away your freedom, gore etc. should be allowed on social media because it's ''free speech'' and there's totally nothing wrong with that ''it hurts so many people it can takes so many lives but whatever, it's called freedom!!!!!!!!!''?! This is not what freedom is about. Can't believe you guys are that way wow

Yeah, he got the right to use your data, and all the content you share in Whatsapp with your contacts. It could be 'shared' with other companies as well. If you don't agree, you can't use his app.

Apple exposed them, so they're updating conditions and asking for permission. He got the right to, but it does not make it correct nor ethical. So, yes... it's time to reflect. Different topic but similar behaviour, right?
