I think we have been taught that we need to have done XYZ by the time we are certain ages and that isn't how life works. Do what is comfortable to you. If you don't want to be with anyone, then don't. If you desire to be in a relationship but depression is hindering you, perhaps seeking mental health resources in your area and making sure you are practicing self care. Maybe getting the depression under control would help in wanting to socialize with people more, maybe not. It's really up to what you want out of your life. Sometimes being in a solid friendship is the best relationship you can be in. No pressure to be intimate if you don't want to and you are connecting with someone you like. 

You are not weird, you are a human. We all do things differently, go at our own pace, choose different paths. Abnormal would  land you in prison . What you are describing is not that. Do what fills your heart with joy and brings peace to your soul. When you are happy, you attract brighter things. Take care of you.
