ALBAVEASP
Regardless of the 2020's end, the muddled and negative portions are in extension; notably the sufferings of the economical, industrial and big screen entertainment. And in spite of the ongoing “indoor set-up's”, the streaming businesses continue to skyrocket, weighing up the artist's productivity in releasing new materials than the traditional time intervals (which usually takes a year or two before relasing a new album). Considering the definitive and obvious factors of the previous year, it is easy to assume 2021 is 2020's compound year. So here are my 2021 music prediction: A. Music In General 1. The Gradual Decline of 80's Trend Spoiler The 80's trend actually started in mid-2019 before it's official releases in 2020. Without the huge pop star's projects to contribute, the hype would eventually wear off. Some artists would still put out materials just to gain the trend's left overs. 2. The Rise of Indie and Alternative Genres Spoiler Obviously, Swift inspired this idea. And with Sheeran's acoustic charm, 2021 would have the mellow and slow-paced sounds. Especially the use of streaming services are at large, most Indie artists would benefit the most. 3. The Absolute Power of Hip-Hop/Rap Genre Spoiler It's no-brainer that Hip-Hop and Rap will continue to dominate the charts. Like how many #1 singles and albums of these genres are there for the past 5 years. 4. The Return of Unapologetic Pop Spoiler After the 80's spell lifts off, the summer of 2021 would have the retrospective pop songs of ‘just’ having fun. More like a Kesha's TiK ToK kind of thing. 5. The Irrelevance of British's Groups/Bands Spoiler With the current K-Pop sensation, it might take some time to produce another One Direction. B. Music In Artists 1. “Say So” is Doja Cat's First and Last #1 Single Spoiler The power of Dr. Luke in this hypocrite industry. 2. Megan Thee Stallion Continues to Dominate Spoiler As long as Tik-Tok is a thing, Stallion will still have hits. 3. Ariana Grande to Release Her 4th Consecutive Album Spoiler It's just a matter of time. 4. A Flop Comeback Spoiler Eilish, Rihanna or Sheeran. Your choice. 5. Adele's New Era Will Garner Controversy Spoiler Her recent antics are rather intriguing. So if ever Adele will release her comeback album, it would be controversial in some sense. This thread is just for fun, don't take it seriously. But what y'all think? Link to comment
FemmeFataleBrit
I think Billie Eilish’s next album is gonna have Oops-esque success, which basically means it will do very well but not as well as her debut did. I genuinely feel like Rihanna will flop. Ed Sheeran might underperform in the US, but he can release an album of trash and it would still be successful in the UK. Link to comment

SloppyToppyGoddess
Britney will release B10 and it will spawn two number 1 hits and 2 more top 10 hits. They'll re-release the album with 4 new songs and the last single on it will go number 1. Britney will win three Grammys im 2022 for her work. Ariana Grande will have two number one singles. Selena Gomez will release a new album that will go number 1. Demi Lovato will continue to flop. You will pay to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Miley will release a new album right away. NSync will announce a reunion tour for 2022. A new pop girl will emerge that will revival the instant popularity that Britney and Gaga received. A music legend will pass away. Link to comment

popprison
interesting that you say eilish/rihanna/ed sheeran may flop and no more #1s for doja cat. Obviously rap will continue to become more and more popular. I don't want rihanna to flop but idk it's hard to tell sometimes Link to comment
popprison
I highly doubt billie eilish will flop. She is amazing and extremely popular despite some lame moments on her social media or whatever. and she delivers big time with her songs. Link to comment
