Dude relax. Your not Elliot page. Your words are literally 10x worse than what people are saying here.

There isn’t bigotry here. You do understand not everyone here speaks English as a first language. And it’s a valid question to ask why singular people are referring to themselves as “they”. That’s the majority of comments that I’m seeing.
I’m not seeing anything discriminatory or offensive here.

You need to calm down and let people ask questions. That’s the point of forums. You have literally attacked everyone here that doesn’t share the same viewpoint. THATS offensive.

Bro, I just have sympathy for this actress.  She’s never going to be a male.  I’m really tired of this game society is playing with people who have body dysmorphia.  This is like playing into someone’s identity who has an eating disorder.  “Wrong body Birth” isn’t science.  And how can something so rare be so disproportionately prevalent in Hollywood and their kids.  This strikes me as mental health/ attention seeking liberal behavior for the sake of standing out and pushing an agenda.

But Trans people ARE real...

First of all, 'they' can most definitely be used to refer to a single person - we do that when we don't know the gender of the person we're referring to, when the gender is irrelevant, or when we're speaking in general. Plus, it has been a topic of debate for centuries:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singular_they

Second of all, grammar isn't set in stone - it changes, and theory differs from grammarian to grammarian. I study English philology, and it's quite common to see, "According to Grammarian X, it's this way; however, according to Grammarian Y, it's that way." :tiffhair_miss_ms_new_york_ny_fix_hair_nodding_listening:

That's why I added that last part - grammar changes and isn't set in stone. I don't think you're a bigot for refusing to use they. I just think you're stubborn, and that grammar is a bad excuse. I don't necessarily agree with the whole non-binary thing either, but using someone's preferred pronouns takes 0 effort. You do you. :tiffhair_miss_ms_new_york_ny_fix_hair_nodding_listening:

Definitely. People shouldn't make a scene if someone accidentally uses the wrong pronouns. Non-standard gender identities are still a new concept for the majority of people. Furthermore, people use pronouns based on what they see with their own eyes. If you mostly present as male (for example, Sam Smith), don't get mad at someone who uses the wrong pronouns by accident. Of course, if they're deliberately being an ******* by using the wrong pronouns, then **** them, and they're not worth your time. :mhm_britney_nodding_yes_mhmm:

i simply don't understand what is the point to use "they". I mean, she come out as a trans man so why we can't use only he instead of they? :tired_so_there_head_tilt_annoyed_see_rose_mcgowan:

Hi guys!

Here is an awesome article from GLAAD that can clear up some of the questions here regarding pronouns and gender identity:

Sis, "they, their ,and them" are gender neutral and often used to refer to the singular. It's not grammatically incorrect.

Examples :
"The patient left before they could see a doctor"
"They also left their laptop in the office."

"Someone will need to call them to notify them immediately.

Which toxic comments? Like seriously, we are all here to say: Good for him and stuff like that, how is that toxic?

Transphobic would it be, if someone posts still her and she and this person knows better.

But no, i refuse to call someone "It", because that would be in my first language the better option out of the things my language offer.

I hope I don't sound condescending but I think English isn't @OnlyBeyonce's and @Alexanda's first languages. Will someone be willing to educate especially for these cases (also if you can, explain why it's best one doesn't complain about these uses)

You know what really annoys me...people like Ellen grew up as "straight" passing and got to reach success in the world and now get congratulated for being what other people her age got made fun of for being in their adolescent.  Sorry, if you didn't have to grow up and experience what it felt like being gay and picked on for it then you don't get congratulated for it after you are successful.
