Popular Post PokemonSpears
On November 30, 2008, Britney: For the Record premiered on MTV following the release of Britney's sixth studio album Circus. The documentary film followed her return to the music industry after the personal struggles she had lived the previous years, and the media coverage this got. Produced by Andrew Fried and directed by Phil Griffin, they started the main shooting a few days before her appearance at the VMA's 2008 that September. The format of the film is mainly an interview which was supposed to contain no filters, where she talks about her past experiences from fame and success, to her personal life, including past relationships, marriage, divorce, and several of the highly publicized events of 2007 such as shaving her head or the infamous VMA's 2007 performance. Additional to this, we get footage of her in her day to day life, at home with her kids and her father, we see her preparation for the VMA's 2008, her guest appearance at Madonna's tour, with Madonna herself being interviewed as well, rehearsals, photoshoots, the making of the videos of Womanizer and Circus and some time at the recording studio. She also talks about her music, her feelings towards the fans, but most importantly, something that resonates a lot lately with her ongoing legal situation, this was the first time and, for a while, it was the last time she talked about the conservatorship she was placed under at the beginning of that year: "There's no excitement, there's no passion... I have really good days, and then I have bad days. Even when you go to jail, you know there's the time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never ending. It's just like Groundhog Day every day." The documentary was one of most watched shows everywhere it was aired: in the US it got a combined total of 5.6M viewers between the two airings of the show; in Mexico it got 4.3M viewers between the two times it was aired; in Australia it attracted 1.42M viewers and in the UK, 391,000 viewers. In April 2009, a DVD was released including the full documentary plus extra scenes that didn't air on MTV. It also included 3 bonus remixes of Womanizer, and 3 remixes of Circus. Despite this film being used as part of the marketing strategy for her "comeback" as well as to promote the Circus album, over the years it's faded into this obscure place with little to no recognition from "her team". It's almost impossible to find it for purchase on the internet, and it's not available for streaming in any official platform. In recent years, it has been brought to attention again because of several of her declarations throughout the film regarding her freedom (or lack of this one) and her feelings towards the people that surrounds her not listening to her, are still true and applicable to her current life, which after almost 13 years, still depends on a personal and financial conservatorship which the fan movement #FreeBritney has been advocating against. Plus her eyebrows were amazing in this time period. With that being said. I want to watch it but I don't think I can. Its gonna make me so sad. 8 4 Link to comment
NewDisplayName
It’s heartbreaking to watch it again for me : ( and even things she said I felt that 90% things were unsaid.. it felt like she wasn’t managing the idea and felt partly uncomfortable doing that.. for example in “chaotic series” and even in “britneys diary” series she was ruling it.. and it’s really sad to see Britney rules by all these people.. I wish soon she will have the power on her life #freeBritney as***les!! 2 Link to comment
MonAmour
This was way more revealing than we thought at the time. What confuses me is Jamie seemed like a loving dad. He made her cheese gritz and cried because she "looked so beautiful". There's some arguing like normal families, but is there a chance that Jamie Spears isn't the actual bad guy? Maybe he's just a scapegoat? I don't know. 3 1 Link to comment
Easy There
Also looking back the things she said about bad ppl. We all thought she was talking about Sam,Adnan etc. "Bad" ppl in past. But I honestly think she was talking about Lou,Andrew and some other ppl who took control over her life in that time period. Especially when you connect everything else she said. 7 Link to comment
Alex_1991
It bothers me that she sounds so mature and focused in this documentary, while now she always act bubbly and childish. 1 5 Link to comment

I don't know. then if he's doing all this just to "protect her" he clearly needs some kind of therapy. You just can't pretend to control your children's life forever just so nothing happens to them. They have to learn and grow at some point. He may want the best for Britney, but there's obviously more stuff involved at this point surrounding the conservatorship and intertwined with it that he's refusing to let go. 7 Link to comment
rennen
Looking back there's actually so many sad moments in this and I think it's even more apparent that the sham conservatorship has failed her in every way possible. 5 3 Link to comment

There’s no telling what psychological torture she’s been put through. Something obviously isn’t right. I feel like they’ve really messed with her brain. 1 6 Link to comment

Maybe he's just a scapegoat? I don't know. I think the cheese gritz part seemed an act just to show he was taking care of his troubled daughter. Dont forget Britney seemed hella annoyed when he was meddling with what she should do with Womanizer and then called him an *******. He is an abusive person, but Britney is probably the only one who never accepted his bs all the time. Maybe thats why they never got along. He bashed her publicly in 2007. Defended Larry and called her a sick little girl. There are stories similar to the restauranter one, where he showed up at her shows drunk and embarassed her. Hes a bad person. Many bad people think they are right and what they do is justified. Jamie doesnt seem to love her like a caring father would, he only talks about money - her money btw - and wants credit for her career and success. He seems like those ***ist old ****s who cant accept when a woman is more succesful that he ever will be. See Bryan saying the cship has been good for the family and talking about the Britney brand as the Spears family business. Imagine what Jamie really thinks then. They dont respect Britney and if he really loved her, hed have done anything to help her get out of the mess he put her into. He also seems to be punishing Britney someway. She gets 12k a year for personal spending but he throws 500k at Lou like its no biggie even tho Britney isnt even working rn. He was a ****ty dad to Britney all her life and continues to ruin her life. This job is the best he ever had and he seems more interested in keeping that - smt that gives him power and control over her, her assets and career - then helping Britney to be happy and living the life she wants to. If he really cared about Britney, hed leave her alone, but he only talks about Britney resuming her career. He compared her to a racehorse ffs. Lets just accept that there are many bad parents out there, its not that unheard of at all. In a statement to Page Six yesterday, Jamie sticks up for Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph – who was fired by Britney last Friday, as we first reported. Britney was furious with Rudolph for forcing her into the Promises rehab clinic in February after she went out almost every night for a month, posed for photos in her underwear with New York dancers and shaved her head. Jamie Spears told us in an e-mail: “When Larry Rudolph talked Britney into going into rehab, he was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 years of experience knew needed to be done. She was out of control. Larry was the one chosen by the team to roll up his sleeves and deliver the message, to help save her life. “The Spears family would like to publicly apologize to Larry for our daughter’s statements about him over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, she blames him and her family for where she is at today with her kids and career. Larry has always been there for Britney. For this, we will forever be grateful to him.” Britney told us via her rep, “I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It’s sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to accept a real woman’s love. I am concentrating on my work and my life right now.” Link to comment
Oxic
I still can't believe the way she spoke about Justin and Kevin so freely, and even aknowledge how the breakup with Justin lead her who she was back then. Amazing tbh 1 3 Link to comment
