Blackout2006
Hello everyone! So i have tried collect alot of information and even ask you guys about this, but i have finally come to this conclusion of Britney Spears album sales in the first years of their release! Albums released by Britney around October-December of one year sales will be calculated with October-December of the next year. For example:- ITZ was released November of 2003, but i will be considering November of 2003- November of 2004 as its first year of release. My sources for coming up to these assumptions are this video (even though the total sales he used were inaccurate ), TRL and MTV videos, old articles from the early 00s and certifications depending on the last time Britney's sales were officially certified. So lets go! ...Baby One More Time- Sold 8 million copies in the US and 16 million copies sold WW by the end of 1999 (2nd Best-Selling album of 1999) Oops!...I Did It Again- Sold 7 million copies in the US and 15 million copies sold WW by the end of 2000 (3rd Best-Selling album of 2000) Britney- Sold 4 million copies in the US and 9 million copies sold WW by the end of 2002 (Really no idea, if someone knows pls lemme know) In The Zone- Sold 3 million copies in the US and 8 million copies sold WW by the end of 2004 (5th Best-Selling Album of 2004) Blackout- Sold 700k copies in the US and 2 million copies sold WW by the end of 2008 (1.8 million copies sold WW by the end of 2007) (33rd Best-Selling Album of 2007) Circus- Sold 1.3 million copies in the US and 4 million copies sold WW by the end of 2009 (2 million copies sold by the end of December 2008) (6th Best-Selling Album of 2009) Femme Fatale- Sold 500k+ copies in the US and 1.5 million copies sold WW by the end of 2011 (25th Best-Selling Album of 2011) Myah Marie Jean- Sold 100k+ copies in the US and 609k copies sold WW by the end of 2014 ( N/A ) Glory- Sold 340k copies by the end of 2016 (N/A ) And there you go! Hope you guys enjoyed? Any questions? Lemme know Link to comment

NewDisplayName
Good research! I don't know how it is calculated tbh.. for example - BOMT certifications: 10x Multi-Platinum | December 9, 1999 9x Multi-Platinum | November 23, 1999 8x Multi-Platinum | October 27, 1999 7x Multi-Platinum | September 30, 1999 6x Multi-Platinum | August 27, 1999 5x Multi-Platinum | July 14, 1999 4x Multi-Platinum | May 24, 1999 3x Multi-Platinum | March 22, 1999 2x Multi-Platinum | February 17, 1999 Platinum | February 10, 1999 Gold | February 10, 1999 So by the end of the 1999 BOMT had already sold 10x mullions in us.. but if it was second best-selling album with 8 millions maybe because that some institution who counts that are counting from NOV to next years NOV or smth? Thx! Actually, that was how much BOMT Sold in the US alone. It was the second-highest selling album of 1999 In the US for shifting 8.3 million copies. I remember watching this TRL video of Britney in the year 2000 where they said that BOMT sold 20 million copies WW within one year and 6 months so I had taken those numbers and calculated it with the Miguel Combos (that channel is always reliable with their first year release of sales) Britney sales chart data video, and thus I got the official answer for how much BOMT sold by the end of 1999. So, that’s why I say that BOMT would have sold 16-17 million copies by the end of 1999. Thx for the certifications, it can help a lot with the research! Link to comment
NewDisplayName
you are welcome but RIAA is a flop when it comes to Brit sometimes.. her old records aren't updating and Toxic has only "gold" status : D Link to comment

She has 4 albums with over 10 million sales, and that is so hard to achieve consistently. Some artist album sales have literally fall by 11 million and 5 million by their second and third album, unlike Britney who’s records sold much more smoothly since she was the It girl of the 00s.
