I have no way of proving this but others have speculated (pretty sure Courtney Love has said this), but I have a sneaking suspicion Britney has been assaulted by her father. Perhaps during childhood, which might lead to one of the many reasons she was estranged to him and said she is afraid of him.

I agree that forced medication and isolation have done major damage to her psyche, her confidence and her personality. To say she can't function on her own anymore seems a bit dire though. That may be true to an extent, but I think it's reversible. With more freedom, a lifestyle change and some life coaching, she can learn to be more independent and regain some of what she's lost.

It used to be a widespread theory after she returned in 2011. Since she looked and acted like they hit the reset button on britney and had her running on the human equivalent of a “safe mode” on a laptop.

That all the unnecessary meds fried her brain, and that she may have been exposed to some Hollyweird creeps as a kid.

I find it really unnecessary to speculate and this thread sits uneasy with me. Throwing around possibilities of abuse as a child, lobotomy etc. is disturbing.

Britney wanted certain aspects of her conservatorship case to be made public for transparency, and to seemingly end speculation about certain aspects of her life. If she gets to the point where she wants to talk about the suffering she has endured then good for her but until such times I find the speculation unnecessary.
