Britney’s space odyssey in visuals, videos and songs

Not since David Bowie + R.E.M songs and videos about intergalactic affairs, an artist has released so many singles, songs and videos about extraterrestrial encounters, out of this world adventures, post-apocalyptic, futuristic themes, attacks from A.I. and cloning since Britney hit the musical landscape at the end of the 1990’s. Here is an example of those songs and videos from Britney’s intergalactic dance party.

Love this thread. My two fav artists are Bowie and Britney and the similarities between them are unmistakable.

There are some similarities noted here in Rolling Stone's Glory review: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/review-britney-spears-glory-is-another-fantastic-comeback-249161/

However, there are no articles or think pieces dedicated to analyzing Bowie and Britney's space odysseys. I think this would be so fascinating to see it all written out.

Maybe time to write one? :wink_britney_everytime_white:

I, for one, know this is a Britney Spears forum but please look up Parliament before posting a topic like this.

I haven't... I just focused on the same level of iconic pop artist as Britney...

We also have Empire of the Sun!!!

I legit think Britney is an interesting subject in so many areas of cultural and artistic analysis. There's so much to cover and so many ways to look at it. She's so often overlooked and reduced to crazy in the general public zeitgeist.

I for one love spaceney and this thread.
