The movie is officially titled Scream. Since paramount owns the original trilogy. Scream 4 is owned by a different company since it was a weinstein company production. 

 

Paramount is officially launching the new Scream movie as Scream. And basically separating their new trilogy for a new generation from the generation X and xillenials trilogy.

 

Despite featuring the original survivors. This definitely makes me believe that Any one of them can die as this is a new trilogy. 

 

And I also see this as a big middle finger to Harvey weinstein and separating the scream franchise's into two different universes.

The weinstein era and paramount era.
