Quote

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the demure firebrand who in her 80s became a legal, cultural and feminist icon, died Friday. The Supreme Court announced her death, saying the cause was complications from metastatic cancer of the pancreas.

The court, in a statement, said Ginsburg died at her home in Washington surrounded by family. She was 87.

"Our nation has lost a justice of historic stature," Chief Justice John Roberts said. "We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her, a tired and resolute champion of justice."

Architect of the legal fight for women's rights in the 1970s, Ginsburg subsequently served 27 years on the nation's highest court, becoming its most prominent member. Her death will inevitably set in motion what promises to be a nasty and tumultuous political battle over who will succeed her, and it thrusts the Supreme Court vacancy into the spotlight of the presidential campaign.

Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her granddaughter Clara Spera: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

She knew what was to come. Ginsburg's death will have profound consequences for the court and the country. Inside the court, not only is the leader of the liberal wing gone, but with the court about to open a new term, the chief justice no longer holds the controlling vote in closely contested cases.

Though Roberts has a consistently conservative record in most cases, he has split from fellow conservatives in a few important ones this year, casting his vote with liberals, for instance, to protect at least temporarily the so-called DREAMers from deportation by the Trump administration, to uphold a major ******** precedent and to uphold bans on large church gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic. But with Ginsburg gone, there is no clear court majority for those outcomes.

**** 2020. RIP RBG, thank you for all you have done for the people of this country. You've truly been an exceptional inspiration.

Waiting for Trump to talk sht on her and her death soon. This is the end of America. Trump will appoint another loyalist in his quest to get one step closer to a dictatorship.

Of course he won’t talk ****.  He’s going to be very respectful and replace her with someone who upholds the constitution unlike Obama was doing with activists judges who were twisting the rule of law to fit his Marxist socialist radical leftist agenda.

R.I.P. to Justice Ginsburg.

Oh my goodness.. So many people love her. I guess love isn’t enough to keep good people alive.  :wontcry_tears_crying_sad:

She was damn near 90. Obama asked her to step down when he was president So he could replace her and she refused to give up her seat.  I guess they never thought Hillary would lose.  So they’ve been propping this woman up and making excuses for her missing appearances for months and months.  She had so many health issues, she wasn’t still capable of doing her job.  They just didn’t want Trump to nominate his own justice.  It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s been dead a while and they just now announced it to use it as motivation for voter turnout.  Won’t work.  And even if they think it’s too late for Trump to replace her during his first term, he’ll just do it during his second.  A landslide is inevitable at this point.  Sleepy joe is off hiding in his basement like Ginsburg was. They’re not even trying, yet their fake poles still have joe 7  Points ahead, like they kept saying for Hillary 🤣.  They’re preparing the public to accept his win when the media tries to lie and call it for him after they do as much cheating as they can with mail-in voting.  Won’t work.  Trump is 20 steps ahead and knows their whole game-plan.  The democrats are toast.

Bro you’re in the wrong place! No one listens to this crap .. especially when you just utter Trump quotes. You talk as if everyone agrees with you, you’re on a Britney pop forum ... know your audience. I think you meant to find a Kentwood appreciation forum.

As I am not from USA I did not know much about her story until two years ago when I watched her Oscar nominated documentary.

I was immediately inspired by her actions and legacy. Such a big loss, rest in peace :sad_britney_ftr_for_the_record:.

Half of gays support Trump.  Everyone doesn’t have to think like you bigot. Instead of focusing on Knowing your audience, why don’t you focusing on Knowing thyself.  Stop trying to squish the world into your small box that reflects your miopic views and open your mind to new information every once in a while.  It’ll do you good. It’s the cure to that narcissism you seem to be wearing so proudly.

Trump was being polite.

She’s on record advocating for laws lowering the age of consent to 12 years old.  And she has the blood of 60,000,000 innocent dead babies on her hands.

Did Obama, George Soros and Susan Rice (Part owners of Netflix) include that in her Netflix documentary, or was that topic only covered in the spinoff “Cuties”?
