Kylie Minogue performs "Say Something" on Jimmy Fallon complete with '70s visual effects

In her first of several US promo spots for her upcoming 15th studio album Disco, Kylie lip-synced (much to her fans disappointment) her new song "Say Something," complete with a throwback 70s Disco-y visual effects.

Kylie's return to her trademark dance floor sound with new album Disco (after not so great fan reception for both 2015's Kylie Christmas and 2018's countryfied Golden) kicks off on November 6th.

Well it was filmed on a vintage BBC camera from the 80s. Using actual film. 

 

Kylie said on Twitter. It's supposed to look like that. What Better way to do the 70s and 80s current trend than with someone who experienced it.

I don’t think she is lip syncing. She is adding ad libs. And live her voice usually does sound just like the recording. I personally love this song and the meaning behind it.

LOVE how this looked. I think these pandemic performances are some of the best ever. It gives the artist an opportunity to create something extra special.

She had a few shots, I believe that's why it might seem like lipsync.

I like the song, but the visuals for this era are not that interesting to me. I understand her vision, it's just not what I thought we were gonna get from Kylie as a disco album. I was listening to this song all day long tho.

I'm just gonna say I  loved this. 

Instead of being a bitter ***** behind a keyboard.... in 2020, I  appreciate artists just making an effort to entertain us. 

And for the record, this isn't lip-synced. If you listen to the recorded track, you'll hear differences in her annunciation and tone throughout.... 

I  swear, some of y'all are just never satisfied. What an awful way to do this year 😂
