Happy Thursday! For some reason the algorithms on my YouTube account has been populating old MVs  Its kind of fun but a bit nostalgic so I’ll just roll with it  Anyway, do you guys remember Stacie Orrico? I remember one of her other songs but this one is a gem. The overall message clicks more today than it did in 2003

I bought her self titled album at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square back in 2003!! That album brings back so many memories.

I really enjoyed her.  Wish she would have become a bit more famous.  Not like typical pop star status, but maybe like Carly Rae Jepsen levels.

She walked away at her peak. Said it wasn’t for her, wasn’t the life she wanted, actually went to wait tables in Seattle I believe? Wanted to get back in touch with reality she said. Once her label folded and her third album never saw a LEGIT release, she just bowed out of the industry.
 

she’s now married to a wonderful African American man and has two kids. Recently she popped back up on IG. Loved and STANNED Stacie. I remember waiting for the amazon audio clips of this her second album before it was released. Love you Stac!

She released a follow up in 2006 called "Beautiful Awakening" and imo it's a better album than her self titled. It's a bit more mature and she stepped away from her christian roots in it. It got a botched release in the US but was moderately successful in Japan and some other countries. You should listen to it!!!

She had GEMS! I remember they used to play her music on the christian radio station my mother used to listen to. They played Stuck all the time (Idk why), and that's probably the only good thing I heard on that station.

Stuck & More To Life were sooooo good!   I was obsessed 

 

 

yeah she did a Christian album before this & growing up Christian I listened to it & it was good to me but obviously her pop songs were more my thing. Hahaha. But love her!  Hope she’s happy wherever she is!
