And also, their sources are from Chart masters. Chart masters is a self-made website and honestly only 2 or 3 people work in it. It isnt like a company of Billboard, because it is mostly done by the person who finds this information. And human error can be really prevalent in such cases, especially if you dont have a team and a company because Britney is long far from the 77 million sales figure, because without CSPC, she HAS sold 100 million records. I dont understand the BOMT- 25 million pure sales, OIDIA- 20 million pure sales, Britney- 15 million pure sales, ITZ- 6-8 million pure sales figure because those certifications are long outdated figures. The last BOMT was certified was 2005, the last OIDIA was certified was 2009, the last Britney was certified was...2006? and ITZ last certification was from 2004 (it also shows us that ITZ sold 8 million sales in 2004). . So i mean if these figures are long old, her sales right now should be definitely over 100 million albums. Most of the common estimates for its updated sales now are:

  • BOMT- 33,500,000
  • OIDIA- 26,000,000
  • Britney- 19,000,000
  • ITZ- 11,000,000
  • Blackout- 4,000,000
  • Circus- 7,000,000
  • Femme fatale- 3,000,000
  • Britney Jean- 1,500,000
  • Glory- 1,000,000

TOTAL SALES: 100+ million sales

Plus, in the question box of Chartmasters, fans even told them that Britney herself confirmed that she has sold 105 million records (or albums?) but they just played it off as "Well, we all know Britney isnt good with numbers bla bla bla" i meant i too am lackluster in math but thats a silly excuse, no certification or source can be as reliable as the artist themselves because they know about the record label.

Also Britney has sold 215 million records

...Baby One More Time - 30,000,000.

(Not certified sales, but sales gathered and rounded up by the estimates of various sources)

Also, Britney was confirmed by Jive to have sold 19 million

And to think she had a breakdown in 2007,  just imagine if it never happened she would have sold nearly 100 millions by now, she was unstoppable.

Totally. If only they let her rest, create the music she wanted, even if it hadn't been received easily at first, she would have only grown as an artist.

I'm sorry but there's no way Blackout sold 6 million pure copies worldwide while only selling 1 million in the US

Yeah some of the numbers like Blackout, Circus and Femme fatale were quite inflated, than it actually sold, but if we were to have mediatraffic, and IFPI calculate her sales and certify new figures, those are how close the figures would be like.

Mediatraffic calculated Britney's sales 5 years ago:

I honestly doubt that is Media traffics real account, with a PFP like that :gloria_falling_stairs_trip:

Yes it is the real account :britdrown_britney_tears_crying_drown_ink_black: but anyway I could believe the numbers you linked if they were CSPC, because look:

1. How did Glory sell 1 million pure copies worldwide if it only sold 157,000 in the US?

2. How did Britney Jean sell 1,750,000 pure worldwide if it only sold 280,000 in the US?

3. How did FF sell 5,500,000 if it only sold 805,000 in the US?

I could go on and on, but the most inflated one has to be Blackout

Blackout is inflated for sure along with FF, but i mean how does USA sales affect WW sales of an album? I mean for example, Britney sold 745k in its first week in the US, but globally, it sold 1.7 million copies WW within a week, thats 1 million sales from the globe itself no?

Also, i think it was already confirmed that BJ has sold 1.5 million copies tho....

the US is the biggest market in the world, usually half of american artists' albums sales come from there, since Britney is global usually 1/3 of her sales come from there, the Britney album sold 745K first week in the US but overall it sold 4,988,000 copies, I have always seen the 15M number for this album which makes sense meaning that it sold almost 5M in the US and 10M outside of it, also Britney Jean the max number I have ever seen for it is 800K which makes sense since it would mean that 35% of its sales came from the US (280K)

However if you look at the countries she performs best in commercially, America is ranked at #89.

Spoiler

Britney-List.png

So i mean if its ranked so low as a best performing country for her (despite managing to sell 60 million records in the US), then i dont see how half of her sales would come from US. If we take yr numbers and see how much she has sold outside of the US (subtracting US sales)

Britneys album sales with US sales subtracted:

...Baby One More Time - 19,300,000

Oops!... I Did It Again - 15,000,000

Britney - 10,600,000

In The Zone - 7,000,000.

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative - 5,300,000.

B In The Mix: The Remixes - 862,000

Blackout - 2,500,000 (If im not wrong btw, Blackout i think has sold 4-5 million)

Circus - 2,300,000 (I think circus is in the 6 million range)

The Singles Collection - 732,000

Femme Fatale - 1,395,000

Britney In The Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 - 270,000

Playlist: The Very Best Of Britney Spears - This album has sold 170k in the US but yr figure is saying 162k sales?

The Essential Britney Spears - 40,000

Britney Jean - 370,000

Glory - 243,000

Total: 65,912,000

So she still has managed to have sold 50 million albums and above without US sales soo i mean her sales should still be higher

the thing about it is that even if the US is her 89th best performing market since the sales there are much higher it counts more than any other country, for example  it says that the Philippines is her best performing market, a platinum album certification there is 15K while in the US it's 1 Million, a lot of countries have small amounts of units for a certification due to its small population while the US has a +300M population hence its higher certification. Also no one really ever knows just exactly how much an album has sold worldwide but the good thing about the US market is that Nielsen SoundScan tracks all the US' sales accurately, so the numbers reported back in May are the real numbers, but with CSPC it's a different story, for example: Britney Jean has sold 280,000 PURE in the US, but with CSPC (digital downloads divided by 10 + streaming) it has sold 500,000 units in the country hence its gold certification. Overall Britney Jean is reported to have sold 800,000 worldwide PURE and 1,500,000 with CSPC. That's why I think your numbers are CSPC and not pure albums sales cause her CSPC numbers that are reported are:

...Baby One More Time - 33,800,000.

Oops!... I Did It Again - 27,000,000.

Britney - 16,200,000.

In The Zone - 12,300,000.

Blackout - 5,400,000.

Circus - 7,100,000.

Femme Fatale - 4,700,000.

Britney Jean - 1,500,000.

Glory - 800,000.

But at the end of the day, Britney still has sold 100M albums pure and remains the last female artist to do so

Fair enough :raven_thats_so_simone_talking_telling_preaching:

However i still think that in terms of pure sales Circus is 5 million+ (its been so long they have updated circus numbers), but in the end she still has managed to outsell most popstars album sales with just OIDIA and BOMT combined :blast_explosion_skeleton_skull_fire_flames_boom:

hm yes I also do have the suspicion that Circus has sold 5 Million or at least 4.5 Million since it was as global as Blackout so it doesn't make sense how 42.5% of Circus' sales came from the US meanwhile Blackout's only 32.2% came from it but anyway yes she really was and is still an album artist, I think overall she's the 5th best selling female album artist? Behind Madonna, Celine, Mariah and Whitney

6th best-selling i believe, Rihanna has sold 300 million records and is the second-best selling female artist

Also,if im not wrong didnt Billboard confirm that Britney has sold 150 million albums? I have the link if u want to see it

Btw

Justin Biebers album sales:- 13,870,000 sales

Ariana Grande album sales:- 5,692,000 sales

Beyonce album sales:- 35,733,000 sales

I'm talking about albums sales not records (albums + singles) Rihanna has sold over 100 million singles but her albums sales 30-40M albums, the female artist ranking is (I think) in terms of albums:

1. Madonna - 214,400,000.

2. Céline Dion - 186,200,000.

3. Mariah Carey - 173,800,000.

4. Whitney Houston - 129,700,000.

5. Britney Spears - 100,300,000.
