Yes if you're a celeb,  it's good and useful to use your platform to raise awareness, but do we really popstars for that? Our brain is already getting bombarded with stressful news all days, we can't escape that chaos, whether it's on social medias or on TV. Music should be an escape, a way for us to relax, and forget about our problems a little.

Celebrities should be free to express whatever political views they have. They are human beings just like us. We need to stop treating them as objects for our entertainment and let them live as humans, which includes letting them express their views if they want to.

It's funny, it seems it's always those with conservative views who want celebrities to stop talking politics and to "stay in their lane." It makes sense given their history of oppressing anyone different than themselves.

Art is not always here to please us, sometimes it's important to speak up and take a side , and artists are people too they can express their opinions including their political views if they like to , I agree it shouldn't be about politics all the time but if they want to show support or let their followers know for example that they're not taking side with a monster like trump then why not....

Honestly I wish there was more balance in terms of political ideology among pop singers. It seems like 99% of pop artists support liberal/Democratic candidates, and it's unfair if only one side is being represented imo.

And sure Country singers almost always pander to conservatives, but there aren't any Country singers that are on par with pop artists in terms of fanbases or cultural impact.

I 100% agree with the OP it honestly turns me off from a celebrity. I undestand using the platform to stand up for issues like pride, BLM, dreamers, etc. But endorsing politicians just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not going out to vote because Billie Eilish or Miley Cyrus tells me who they’re voting for.

Popstars can make you dance AND think in the same life, is amazing! I wish Britney would use her platform for "good" she is SO quite on everything.
