Billie Eilish says she believes most rappers are lying about how much wealth they've accumulated.

In a new interview, Eilish explains the meaning behind her #1 hit song "Bad Guy."

"A lot of it is about a lot of artists right now, a lot of rappers.

"I feel like pretty much all the rappers right now are lying, about how much money they have and about their house and their clothes etc."

She adds:  "It's like, 'Shut up, you don't have this.' It's just annoying."

"And it's so easy to see through people when they talk about their money," she continued.

"They have nothing else, so that's all they talk about."

Thoughts, Exhale?

I think she's spot on.

You can see it in the music videos.

Flying cash, cars, diamond chains and ladies twerking around. it's all the same....for the most part of course. But that's how they want to be potreyed and build their brand sooo.

OMG LOL

I say and think this all the time.

It's like a brand new rapper with his first album, rapping about all the cars, cash he has.... And I'm like ....but...but......

Artists and actors..it's them being something their not. Pretending to be something else.. playing a character. It's all lies

Btw I was looking at song sales and a lot of hit singles make millions so maybe some of them are rich but whatever

Well damn she didn't have to shade Nicki like that. :billie:

She’s the only rap bich on the Forbes list, she has the money to buy Cardi B, Lil Kim, Iggy Azalea, Megan Tree Stallion and Doja Cat entire existence.

For your poor little knowledge, Billie actually loves Nicki and said numerous times that she’s inspired by her rap singing style.

Its entirely a cultural thing, not connected to them being "rappers". Tbh I will point out her comment, although inadvertantly, contains racial undertones as a result.

Man what are some other songs à la Rock Me In (I reckon you incorrectly refer to them as "dream pop") ? :fran:
