VMAs may cancel performances

Multiple performers may be pulled from the VMAs due to "safety concerns," Hits Daily Double reports.

"Some sources have reported issues with the COVID compliance team. A bubble has been created at an L.A. hotel for the artists and their teams, along with a bubble for production at the custom-built soundstage for the event."

It's unclear who may get the ax at the moment. 

Right now, Roddy Ricch and J Balvin are no longer performing, HDD reports. 

Cardi B with Megan Thee Stallion were supposed to perform "WAP," but reportedly couldn't get the deal finalized.

MTV is supposed to announce more performers this week, which might include Taylor Swift. The NY Post reported she's performing, but have since deleted that claim. 

Harry Styles and Dua Lipa should be performing, but because they got zero nominations, they both declined to participate. 

 

Performers include Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, BTS, Doja Cat, CNCO, Miley Cyrus, DaBaby, Maluma and Black Eyed Peas. 

Yikes........ thoughts, Exhale?

I swear to god if the first performance of Chromatica era is cancelled when it’s been out for half a year I will not be responsible for my actions

I hope Gaga and Ari don't get the chop. But even so, I do think MTV are taking a massive risk with holding the awards this way.

Gaga still can perform rain on me in her swimming pool at home and Ariana can sing in bathtub like how they were promoted the song few months ago. I was wondering why they didn’t perform the song tho

hmm do they intent to do all the performances live at the same place? With multiple dancers and productions for each artist? That sounds like a lot of people together . I think at this moment to have a pre-recorded performance would be safer and better than to have nothing .

The should cancel the whole VMAs thing. Let's be real for a moment, ever since he/she/it/they (someone who is/are responsible for nominations) started nominating and inviting mediocre 'artists' the show has been a tragedy really.

I really thought performances would be filmed ahead of time to help lessen the chance of big groups together. If there's no performances, not worth watching.
