Justin Bieber's most-recent album "Changes" went Gold six months after its release

Last decade, Biebs was one of the hottest pop stars. This year has proved to be extremely difficult to like him, whether it's questioning psychological *****, religious advice....

All that has basically made it difficult to like him and it shows.

When Purpose came out, he was on top of the world, selling out stadiums and having back to back hits and a multi-platinum record. He said it came at a cost of his own well-being.

Sadly, the five year wait manifested his most poorly reviewed album to-date. No number one hit single (it peaked at #2), the "Yummy" video conspiracy whether it was about him being ******** abused and he was trying to tell a story.

Unfortunately, the public didn't like the new Justin Bieber.

It took six months. But Changes was just certified Gold by the RIAA. It's his lowest certified era to date.

The album came without a lot of fan fare.

Thoughts?

I’ll never understand why he took a 5 year break. That alone hurt his career so bad! Also, he is just not “relatable” anymore. I pray for a comeback, but that just won’t happen.

I feel like his five year break isn't why his music isn't selling. It's his behavior. He acts like an adult child...like grow TF up already man :tired:

Like we get it... you are hot and talented but the no fcuks given, better than everyone tude he has is such a turn off :donewithit:

He had hits without releasing an album (his features) so he's been around, so he can probably have a resurgence but we'll see :explainlol:

Biggest Problem is the music here wasn't very good.

BUT I agree with the above poster.  For years he has played the role of a spoiled brat and then whenever it's time to promote an album he goes into "forgiveness" / "I'm a changed person now"   and you can only pull that crap so much.  I know after the second time I didn't believe it anymore and it changed my view of him.  You don't get to exploit your personal issues again and again and use it as an excuse and as promotion.   This is the same reason that Demi's new stuff hasn't gotten any attention in my opinion as well.

The public gives no ****s about an artist's behavior outside of music. Cardi B called black women roaches and drugged and robbed men. She just recently got a number 1 with WAP.
lbr nobody cares about any of that. :typing:

As long as the music is good or goes viral,it will do well. Justin's singles last era were lackluster. That's why nobody cared and I do think that taking so long to release music did hurt him. Staying out of the public's consciousness for so long is not good for a pop artist. People stop caring as much.

I think there are several reasons why it flopped:

1. He has SUCH an obnoxious and pretentious personality!

Idk if its cause of his past **** use or jail stints but he just doesnt seem like a sweet genuine guy anymore plus he is also very sxist.

2. The album was sh!!t and so was the main single, "Yummy".

The first single defines the overall success of an album and

Yummy was generic and lazy in writing. Idk what the hell he was thinking of releasing that song.

What made him go from "Sorry" to "Yummy"?

That baffles me!

But overall Purpose was his peak success wise, artistically and in his looks too.

He might not ever top Purpose and thats probably why he dismissed it

Actually I have brought up Cardi's BS on this forum

The issue with Justin and his bad behavior is that he's a veteran but he does keep getting hits. His album didn't really get him any though. I think the GP is over him but we'll see :selenerz:

Cardi in my opinion is still fresh on the scene and her 15 minutes have turned into hours. I do think once trap music is over she will start to fade BUT will be a nostalgic act :bedtime:

I think a long break is completely understandable, he’d been working non-stop since he was a teen. Remember he made it big in like 2010.  Like Britney in her earlier years, he wanted a normal life. Changes is a great and Happy album, I think it’s his first body of work where we really hear Him. I love it, play it all the time. Purpose is nice, but Changes is his best.   :mhm:

tbh this album was quite underwhelming compared to Purpose, it just had filler after filler while almost all of Purpose's tracks were great, I can't believe his fans waited over 4 years for this :clownery:
