Britneys image for the GP is changing

so this might be a long  Thread so im sorry for that, but i want to go into Detail about how Britneys image for the GP has taken a massive u turn during lockdown. and i 100% blame her team for this. i was in Uni this morining and we were having lunch. My Classmates know i like Britney. but they are into all the other singers. we were talking about are music tastes and who we like. and everytime i mentiond Britney they looked almost disgusted. and then i heard "She is so Crazy, look at her instagram"

It finally hit me. The GP Think she is Crazy. AND THAT IS NOT WHAT WE NEED OR WANT. Britneys team has done enough damage in the past and this is the worst. her team are playing a very dangerous game. they are literally destroying Britneys reputation.

Girl, is this a realization that suddenly dawned on you in 2020? I've been defending Britney for over a decade. Pre-instagram. I'd say right NOW the public is more sympathetic to her than they have been in years with the whole #FreeBritney movement going mainstream. But for YEARS the amount of family members, whale looking co-workers, etc that trash and hate on her for no reason other than imo: Sexism/misogyny, classism, ablism, and jealousy. 

Yes, jealousy. Ugly girls who grew up resentful of Britney in the early 2000's. Threatened by her sexuality and probably indoctrinated by their pearl-clutching Christian parents. Then you have the NSYNC fans that never forgave her for leaving Justin. You have people who judge her for being "trailer trash." You have people who judge her due to her mental illness, even though like 90% of the population suffers from some form of mental illness at this point. And then just people who think she deserves to suffer for being a manufactured dumb blonde by her record label. The media was heavily involved in tearing down Britney's public image and society as a whole took a sick pleasure in watching her downfall. 

WE BEEN KNEW people's trash opinions. Britney sadly suffered the brunt of this. She almost went on the cross for other pop stars to get treated better. Again you have celebrities like Selena Gomez who had her best friend donate her a kidney only for her to continue abusing ***** and alcohol. You have Demi Lovato who has relapsed more times than Mariah's had #1 singles. You have people like Justin Bieber tweaking on **** on the street. And yet somehow Britney is still seen as crazy because people can't get the image of her bald and hitting a car with an umbrella out of their mind from 13 years ago. They are all sheep at the end of the day. That, more than anything, is proof to how much influence corporations and groupthink have on the general public as a whole. 

Lets see how quick they are to jump on her **** if she ever decides to do a second "big" comeback.

What stans persistently fail to realize is that the GP has had this perception since 2007.  The circus comeback was a major step in the right direction, but it was diluted with everything that happened thereafter. To the GP there is no “successful world tours and Vegas residencies” and all the good in between. Stans and randos stopping by in Vegas have been supporting the Britney brand almost solely for years now. That and the 90s babies who feel nostalgic to her old material. She’s gonna have to work really hard (if she wants it) to be an international superstar again. Yes people empathize, but the GP has thought she’s “crazy” for a decade now. Instagram has only added fuel to that fire.

Britney was the sexiest female pop star of all time . Amount of success/ impact she had 99-04 ALONE makes other fanbase uncomfortable.

I think the GP is split. The dumb and the wise. Some think she’s ‘crazy, hasn’t been right in the head since 2007 after the head shave’ and the others are finally learning of #FreeBritney and the how her mental health is determined from the conservatorship. It’s also worth noting that the people who believe she’s crazy aren’t very educated in mental health. 2007 was a laughing stock for most people, but since then many many people now point out the errors of their ways and start to understand what she was going through. The latter will happen  again.

Nothing new.. it was never cool to listen to her and she was deemed crazy since 07 . Sadly GP is still stuck in 07 and they think Britney stopped making music since circus and that she’s crazy.

 

 Anyway. I have to say though. In the recent years it has changed from a place of jealousy and “she deserves this”

 

 to sympathy and understanding. People now say, it’s understandable and anybody would go crazy. And unfortunately a lot of Pity is there as well as in poor Britney.. poor girl etc..

don't worry because the gp are convinced that it has been crazy since 2007  like other artists like Miley and Justin, curiously all exploited in their adolescence. Coincidence? I do not think so. 
 However, despite everything, she is seen as an iconic artist who enjoys a status and relevance that few artists have managed to know, loving BOMT and TOXIC as pop classics that cannot be missed. 

I assure you, your Britney-disgusted classmates act like that in front of their classmates and also because they know you're a fan and want to discuss how weird her IG is  but if a random classic plays on the playlist, they'll sing along the whole song.

you're right... even I being one of her biggest stans for 20 yrs have to admit that I made comments like this but I didnt access exhale and wasnt aware of her team abusing her. Let me tell you in my experience back in 2007-2009 telling people you were a Britney fan was like a coming out experience. I feel so bad for her (even though she doesn't need my pity) because people hated her for no damn reason, like they were strongly against this stranger they didn't know. And if you supported this crazy stranger then something was wrong with you. If I "dislike" a singer that just means I'm apathetic toward them, but people were really out here hating.

people have become too self conscious and they project it with insane judgments. of all actions to label as "crazy" dancing isn't one of them. what about these tik tok dances? they are so cringy but because 10,000 people did the same dance to the same song it's not crazy? there's no consistency with the judgments. 

personally i find britney's dance videos and beach/god essays endearing because of the simplicity and the joy she seems to find in the simple things, which is something she's probably had to do to remain sane. grounding yourself with finding joy and gratitude in simple things is a good self-help exercise.

what is "weird/unusual" anyway? there are 7B people in this world. is everyone who isn't behaving identically to you weird? i hate the idea of ingrained norms and people's entitlement to spread negativity at people who aren't exactly the same as them

It was such a difficult time! People were questioning why you support her if "she was crazy" and "a bad mother". How can somebody see a person suffering and mock her? It was really disturbing....Glad to see that specially after the me too movement, people are more understanding and have more empathy. Still a lot work to do tough.
