One of her beloved hits of the 80s is the highly controversial "Papa don't preach".

The fact Madonna predicted the controversy to come over the fact that people will misunderstood the message and take it the wrong way.

Was very scary accurate as it did happen.

One end PLANNED parenthood criticized her for saying teens should keep their pregnancies, one end praised for being pro life.

But it was neither.

The subject is one of Madonna's common themes, which is male authority, which is another big reason why the gay community loved her. Here's a woman telling her father. I'm gonna marry him, have his baby, and you can either sit down or accept it.

It wasn't also the only time she addressed her father.

1989's very dark "Oh Father" from the like a prayer album suggests that Tony Ciccone and his Catholic upbringing was very abusive to Madonna.

I always find it interesting.

She praises her dead mother also named madonna.

But when it comes to her father, nothing but resentment and anger, whether it's getting remarried to where she set in her mind set, oh I'm being replaced by this evil stepmother from hell, I hate you and will make you feel my wrath as long as you live. 57 years since her mother died, she still holds that resentment towards him. She said happy father's day to Madonna, but always ignored her father. But when it comes to her mother she will always praise her, sometimes I wonder if she wishes it was her father who died of cancer instead of her mother.
