If Britney thought the conservatorship was temporary, why did she say in FTR that she was going to pay for her mistakes for a very long time? She literally said she just had to learn to cope with it. She said people in jail knew they had that time when they were to get out and she would feel more liberated if she had something to look forward towards. Did she know it wasn’t ever intended to be temporary because that doesn’t make sense. A lot of people think she was happier that era because she knew it was ending but idk. This puzzle is missing so many pieces.

maybe she was told it was temporary but they didn’t tell her when it was going to end, that’s why she said that at least in prison you know when you’re gonna get out

It seems as though most of the things the conservatorship has made dubiously legal, they were extra-legally already forcing her to adhere to before it was put in place. So, I can imagine that, with or without it, she was inescapably surrounded by people controlling her to such a degree that ever finding an escape route looked impossible. I was looking at a video of her from either 99 or 00, behind the scenes recording footage and she makes a quick comment saying, "Oooh I get to talk..." and then quickly goes back to what they're supposed to be doing. It makes me think that the conservatorship was placed more as an excuse for outsiders who saw the situation going on with her and raised objections than as a way to control her, because they seemingly already had near absolute control over her for years already.

She did also get divorced which meant child support and paying K-Fed for 18 yrs. So maybe that's another thing she meant.

Their divorce settlement actually gives him additional & entirely separate alimony for life. I don't think she likely cared about any money that would actually be spent on her boys.
