Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's surprise performance cancelled

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, who scored 9 nominations at the VMAs, planned on performing at the Rose Bowl in LA on Friday, but due to safety concerns... it was axed last-minute.

“Gaga really wanted to do it, but the Rose Bowl pulled the plug because of what happened in the Hamptons,” a music insider told Page Six. “They feared that once the crowd realized who it was, they would run toward the stage, not social distance, and they feared they’d lose their license.”

The Hamptons part refers to The Chainsmokers concert - thousands of fans gathered and ignored the social distancing rules. Read more about that here.
