It’s so weird but true

It’s weird how much of her image was just her blonde hair. My cousin once said her shaved head was only so shocking because Britney was the epitome of a long blonde haired Goddess. What’s super funny about that is that back in the day, Britney very rarely wore her hair long. One prime example is the 2000 VMAs, but most of the time she had shoulder length hair or normally short choppy hair or a little bit longer than shoulder length but still choppy. She never consistsntly wore long hair until mid and later career. Long blonde hair really is a huge piece of her image though. It’s like the Mandela effect or something.

hence why she shaved it off. Larry and her mom was trying to convince her to go to rehah because they were trying to push her back to work again and she wouldn't have it. That's why she encouraged the paps to take pictures because she wanted to destroy her perfect image as a FU to her management and mom ( Lynne even wrote in her book that when she saw Britney shave her beautiful locks, she was heartbroken) Britney knew that right people would be pissed off at her doing that since her image was everything. It would destroy all of Larry's hard work of trying to make her the perfect idealize barbie popstar. The salon people even said that Britney felt relieved and said that now people can't touch her anymore. I think she really thought that was career suicide and that they can leave her alone as she's not bankable no more, she thought wrong. 

She even wrote on her site in her blog section how she was hurt that her management assumed she needed to go to rehab like something was wrong with her when she really just needed a break. She spoke about how satisfying it was that for the first time in a long time she got to sleep in and just do nothing. She was trying to get away from toxic people but they reeled her back in

Yes and no. I think that what shocked people (myself included) is the way it all happened. Some female celebrities shave their heads but they glam it up, they do it for photoshoots, acting roles, wearing haute couture while Britney..... did it as a desesperate move to break her good girl image (or the very little good side that still left) at a cheap hair salon, wearing sport clothes, then the umbrella incident of her very totally rude, it was just a complete MESS from any angle you want to look at it. 

 

After a few years, I have come to have a love/hate relationship with the Circus era. I love the album and her comeback ofc but I feel like it just should not have happened, it was just too soon, after the 08 hospitalization, she needed a time for herself, away from all the Hollywood stuff and then come back when she wanted. I think that 07 killed the very little Primeney spark that she still had.
