Real Talk: Why do we think Domination was cancelled?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious here. The paralegal said its because Britney was not taking her meds so Jamie cancelled the show.

Now, for the sake of discussion, I want to play Devil's Advocate. Just because I would like to hear theories. But if this is the case doesn't it imply that Jamie & co. are not as concerned about the money as it seems? If we are going by what the paralegal told the gram girls, wouldn't it seem like they're more concerned about Britney's mental health than making money? They lost out on a LOT with the cancellation of that residency. Ironically, the residency would have been cut short imo, due to COVID. So regardless, its not a thing that would have lasted long-term. Which is interesting in hindsight.

So what do we really think was the reason Domination got the plugged pulled? Do you think it really was over low ticket sales, as has been speculated?

It seems that Britney wanted to do it, according to that call. But indeed, it seems like she was really going through something during the European leg of the Piece of Me tour. Do you really think this was Jamie exerting his power and control over no reason? What do you think his intentions/motivations are? You would think if they really didn't care about her as a person they would have pushed her on stage regardless. But there also must be a reason why Britney's children hate him...

What are we thinking here? I'd like to know your version of how the events took place.

I see some people speculating that Andrew Gallery came out as part of a grand plan of Lynn and her lawyers. Do you think her team is responsible for the paralegal calling the gram girls, and this has all been part of their long game to end the conservatorship?

Discuss.

“they're more concerned about Britney's mental health than making money?” sorry what?

I have also given this a lot of thought.  I think Britney has been always sticking to her positive attitude of always making the best of a situation. I feel like Domination really was her vision

Haha gurrrrrrlll I put a full disclaimer I was playing devil's advocate here. But the cancellation of the tour and the reasons given never made sense to me. I'm trying to get to the root of the issue

It was Jamie playing psychotic and punishing Britney. Tickets sales were not that bad. I repeat not that bad and would prolly sell closer to opening nights.

I mean I could believe he is seriously power tripping at this point. And I never bought the excuse of low ticket sales.

Its just weird to me that he'd pull the plug and miss out on millions for him, Lou, Jamie Lou, etc...

Britney is in this state of mental health because of them wanting to make money off of her...

and now you are saying that because they canceled domination so she gets her meds they care? No. They want their money machine to hold still

I believe that the cancellation of domination was due to poor sales tho

Woah woah woah...never said that. I'm just speculating the different angles. Anyone on here who is familiar with me and my postings know how I feel about team CON.

I have also given this a lot of thought.

I think Britney has been always sticking to her positive attitude of always making the best of a situation. I feel like Domination really was her vision and she really enjoyed that she was going in the direction she wanted for once. The videos of her rehearsing, although they weren't to many fans taste including myself, were of her own input.

Britney was obviously of a sane mind to realise she doesn't want to keep pumping her body with drugs and refused to continue and then Daddy Spears kept to his word and cancelled her passionate project and from what we are lead to believe, forced her into a "wellness" centre.

In regards to POM tour something was definitely up. I personally think Britney had just reached her breaking point of being paraded to thousands with the same show for income and having no say on anything and everything . She rightly grew tired of being a cash cow imo.

At this point when it comes to James. It is not about money anymore (not completely) it's about sick control over Britney.

I can believe that. I believe if he really does care about her he would've never laid hands on her children tbh. I could see him power tripping hard. I just don't see him giving money up that easily. There must have been other factors. Its just confusing to me because it seemed that Britney wanted to do it if we go by the paralegal's call.

But now we also hear she is protesting/decidedly not working. Its possible that they pulled the plug thinking they would get her to comply...and she still didn't. Maybe that's why we had the narrative it was just on hold, and she decided enough was enough? IDK. I think I'll have to ask that to the tarot when I do my reading hahaha.

I think it's better being cancelled. Britney can focus on her personal while and rest after constant performing. :mhm:

I also think Domination would be POM 4.0 - slutty outfits from Aliexpress, bad choreography, no pre recorded vocals, no production... :checkit:

Snippets of choreo weren't good. Lucky looked like parody :tifflmao:

I hope she comes back but with new album and worlwide tour :yesplease:

Hmm...I really like this take. I hadn't considered that Domination was a passion project for her. Maybe she did actually have much more creative control on this like she did on Glory? Maybe she had a lot more of herself invested into it. I actually think I was one of the few people that was hyped with her rehearsal videos, tbh.

I think its possible that after Glory, this was one disappointment too far for Britney. I feel like her dad was probably trying to exert a power move. Like maybe it was a scare tactic to get her to comply but it ended up blowing up in his face. A gamble for him that did not work out because I felt like after that Britney was 100% done working. Perhaps her dad thought the show would come back at a later date once she apologized or submitted to his wishes?

I really do believe if it were up to Britney she'd speak/interact more with the crowd or audience in her concerts. She's been dead quiet since Circus and I truly wonder if she's just not allowed to engage with the audience outside of the script? A+ on your post though. It was the kind of response I was hoping for. Definitely helps me see things from a different POV.

TBH I have hopes for a worldwide tour for her. I feel like she might have gotten restless under quarantine. She probably wants to get out and see the world like a true Sag tbh.

Meanwhile LMFAO at costumes from Aliexpress. I ******* CANNOT.

I try to be really subjective about everything. From the rehearsal videos it was clear she was really into it. Without a doubt. Her execution was always going to be a topic of discussion but there was no denying she was making Domination her craft.

I am starting to believe that Britney has been consistently fooled into submission by those dangling freedom and her kids throughout the years to then snatch it away whenever she stands up for herself and it's really quite sick.:schoolingtime:

The moment they announced it I thought to myself: That **** is gonna get cancelled..
Ticket-sales went sooo slow. I know we couldn't expect sold out, Vegas is not like that.. Most tourists decides on the day if they want to see a show or not..
But something was off.. The videos that came out looked like Britney was in on the scam, like "Okay Britney we are suddenly, when rumors about bad ticket-sale start top float, gonna drop some videoes with you dancing with only male-dancers.".
So few from Piece of Me was involved, funny enough only those who have her trust... Something seemed off..

I dont feel that way anymore, I have heard from many sources Britney actually was sad it was cancelled, and she wanted it actually, and wanted to be creative BUT the rumors about her not lifting a finger was also true..
Britney wanted Domination - Jamie Didnt. Thats what I have heard. He didn't like the name, the theme.. She was doing it all on her own.

It was definitely not because of low ticket sales, how many people have said that for POM 1.0, then POM 2.0, then POM live in Asia, then POM Tour :jl: you can't expect a show to be sold out early without a proper, strong, consistent era (last time she had one was almost a decade ago, she realised only 5 singles in 8 years, among which only 2 have been promoted), without proper promotion, just with a few instagram videos.

But people have been saying that for a decade lol, if after the mess that was FFT, POM first awful leg with Vegas-wig-ney & 0 ****s given she still managed somehow to be the most lucrative Vegas act & most paid one, Domination would've probably done well if not better than POM :jl:

The reason behind the cancellation is obvious though, something was happening behind the stage. TMZ have already confirmed it, so I don't really get this thread... Britney's stopped to take her meds & Jamie went mad about it. Domination was probably her idea so he wanted either to punish her & to prevent her from performing/meeting people etc.
About the money, she was about to be paid more than 500,000$ per shows. Still, don't forget that they have maaaaany other stuff to milk from her. The starting point is her weird net worth, Forbes estimated it to be 650 million dollars. It's just im-po-ssi-ble for her to have 59 million dollars. A 600 million dollars gap is way too much. Even if she's spent 100 million dollars in 2007. She made more in 2012 & 2010 even though these years she's barely lifted a finger. I don't get how some people can believe this number & think that Britney's net worth is lower than JLo's :jl:. If they want money, they can get it.

Its obvious that Britney enjoys dancing and was into the rehearsals but she didn’t seem into it during her announcement. She legit appeared on top of the podium/stage & waved hi/bye and was escorted out.

I really think that Britney was over it and didn’t want to do another residency. When she refused to work she may have refused meds or maybe she just wanted to live her life?
