TMZ reports Britney Spears is not being held hostage by her conservatorship, claims she could be under the conservatorship for life

TMZ posted a pro-conservatorship story today. In it, they claim that the permanent conservatorships Britney Spears was involuntarily placed under, the ones she tried fighting to get out of, are responsible for keeping her alive.

Here's a copy + paste snippet of what they wrote:

"Here's the reality. We've reported for the last 2 years ... Britney is struggling. Her meds stopped working and doctors were having trouble finding the right combination. Sources with direct knowledge tell us she's not been easy to deal with ... she sometimes complains she wants more freedom. Short story -- she hasn't been especially stable managing her mental illness."

They also claim Britney doesn't see her kids as much because of her mental state.

TMZ had this to say: 

"The conservatorship has been around for 12 years -- an incredibly unusual amount of time for a conservatorship to last, but this one's different."

They add: "Our sources have said for years ... Britney's mental illness requires this conservatorship -- probably for life."

TMZ denies Britney's father, Jamie Spears, who acts as the conservator over Britney's finances, is abusing his power. 

"There is a slew of people involved in the conservatorship -- doctors, lawyers, therapists and a judge. There is no way Jamie could go rogue without one of the others taking it to the judge."

Finally, they claim a source close to Britney said this: "These people who are screaming for the conservatorship to end, well if that happened and she hurt herself or died 2 weeks after would these people utter a peep? No way."

These people are now scrambling. Scared much.

Lol tmz is in her team's pockets. This is disgusting.  How terrible can her illness be??? It seems her conservatorship is behind the cause of any illness.  Please! Funny how they only now have something to say when the petition got 100000 signatures but they haven't said a peep before that.  **** these people.  She can't go on tours and make albums and not have freedom over her life. Justin Bieber and Kanye aren't stuffed in a conservatorship despite being "difficult" with mental illness. Give me a ******* break. I'm literally so mad. But should have seen this coming.  At some point we knew they would try to cover things up again.

there are a lot of celebrities out there who are more problematic than Britney, and have shown to have a mental state worse than Britney, and they aren't under any conservatorship. so excuse me, TMZ, but middle fingers salute you. it's like they are implying the conservatorship is some sort of a medicine or stabilizer that once pulled out, will send Britney spiralling out of control once again. IMO IT IS HER CONSERVATORS AND ENABLERS SUCH AS TMZ THAT WILL LOSE THEIR **** WHEN THE CONSERVATORSHIP IS OVER.

 What type of illness could she possibly have that would warrant her being apart  of this for a lifetime? It really makes no sense. Hollywood is full of mental illness yet none are put in a conservatorship for the rest of their life because of it. There has to be way more factors involved in order for them to justify this,  which they still fail to mention. 

I also don’t like the ending of the article. So they’re saying we should back off from the movement because Britney will possibly die if she’s out of it?? This is so sick and twisted

I'm not sure why TMZ thinks they have any authority in saying she needs it for life. It's not like she can't have people helping her while also being a free person.

The illness is that she makes too much money and she's a woman so it's easy to take control over her.

So they’re basically feeding the narrative that comes from psychological abusers. The point they should be highlighting about the medication is that she cannot choose the doctors that treat her for example, she cannot choose any basics about her life, and that, from my point of view, is being held hostage
