Ever wanted to see Bruce Wayne go nose-to-nose with a human-sized bat? Well, if you've found yourself fantasising about that eerily specific visual over the years, then you're in luck, as Batman Forever's extended cut sees the DC superhero do just that.

Following the recent death of the movie's director Joel Schumacher, fans have been revisiting the camp, cult original, and voiced their enthusiasm for Warner Bros to release the longer version, which has been described as "much darker" and "more serious".

Writer Marc Bernardin weighed in on the possibility, too, tweeting that he has it under "VERY good authority" that a 170-minute cut of the film exists. However, the studio has reportedly informed Variety that it has had "no discussions" about distributing the director's cut.
